Scuba diving, windsurfing and flyboarding are among the watersports on a cape with an enchanting village and a large lagoon.

Visit Psalidi, a stunning coastal district on the island of Kos, with a range of pristine beaches in front of dramatic mountains. Adding to this natural variety is the large wetlands area filled with a great variety of birdlife. From nearby Kos Town, make your way clockwise around the scenic cape and enjoy beautiful views of the blue-green sea.

Arrive at Psalidi Beach and rent a lounge chair to enhance your tan. Go scuba diving or windsurfing with a tour operator stationed a little inland from the strand. All types of villas and resorts line the streets at the rear of the beach. Head southeast and enjoy the views of the Igrotopos Akti Psalidiou lagoon. Watch for birds in the surrounding wetland habitat.

Continue east to reach the Big Blue Surf Center, which specializes in windsurfing and kitesurfing. Brave yourself to try flyboarding, which lifts and propels you above the water. Continue south and try ouzo at one of the traditional tavernas overlooking the sea.

The southeastern cape of the island is a serene and rural spot. Set up a picnic against views of the sea in this tranquil haven.

Make your way south from the village of Psalidi to the village of Agios Fokas. Relax at the bar of the Agios Fokas Beach Club and go swimming in the water next to the pebbly beach. Beach shoes will help with the rocky surface. Bring snorkeling gear to see colorful fish darting around your ankles.

The district of Psalidi lies just outside the main city in the southeastern corner of the island of Kos. Drive east from Kos Town for 3 miles (5 kilometers) to reach the cape of Psalidi in about 15 minutes. Continue clockwise around the coast and head west to the Agios Fokas village. You can also reach this district via tour bus or bicycle.
