The most important thing I want to note is that i feel like you need to make sure you arrive during the day time hours because we arrived at 11 pm and our kids were truly scared since you have to walk in thru a kind of creepy basement area (where bedroom #1 is). "Stayed with my spouse and mother-in-law as we explored the Redwoods. Very easy to find right off the highway but far enough away that road noise was not an issue (there is a closer road but it was partially closed so road noise was even lower than normal). Behind a secure automatic gate with a few other accommodations. The drive up to the stay was fairly steep so be aware you may need to push the gas up the gravel more than you're comfortable doing. "This was our first visit to northern California. We had a great view of the cove where there were sea lions and seals and enjoyed watching the birds and deer from the porch. We traveled to the redwoods which were not far. We also explored the General Store and enjoyed a meal at the brewery in Shelter Cove. All communication with the homeowner was prompt and courteous. Perfect trip!"

Only negative was Vacasa inserting extra steps into reservation process after I had been confirmed by VRBO, and encountering rude Vacasa customer service while calling trying to avoid identity theft. We all deserve kindness and compassion. Finding out I am dealing with a middleman with extra rules is reasonably off-putting after thinking I've closed a deal with VRBO. Cancelling and starting over at that point would have been a hassle. Writing this review is a hassle yet I thought...

"My employee and I stayed here one night for two days of work in the Shelter Cove area. This house was really nice, clean and roomy for the two of us. Close to the Cove and the brewery - our favorite place to eat and have a cold one after field work. The neighborhood was quiet, the property behind this house is a bit of an eyesore, but not a big deal for us. I would definitely stay here again."
