Annual Family Friend Vacation

We stayed 4 nights for our annual family friend vacation. The house was extremely clean and it had everything we could ask for. The views from the entire home are amazing and swimming in the pool and hot tub were a dream. We would highly recommend this house since it is so close to downtown as well.

Wonderful Stay in a Beautiful Home!

We had a great experience at this property. The home was exactly as described—clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. The kitchen was well-stocked, the beds were comfortable, and the overall atmosphere was cozy and welcoming.The location offered the best of both worlds: easy access to nearby attractions while still feeling remote and peaceful. It was the perfect quiet retreat, away from the hustle and bustle. We especially enjoyed the pool and balcony view.Our host was friendly, responsive, and provided all the information we needed for a smooth stay. Check-in and check-out were seamless.We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway.

Best rental property I've ever stayed at

Rass Mandal is such a special place and will have a special place in my heart forever. I was there with 10 of my closest friends for a fun, restful, intentional "bachelorette" weekend before my wedding in a month, and we couldn't have asked for a better space. From the common spaces, pool, hot tub, observation deck, soft lights, art, sound system, cushions, couches - EVERYTHING! We were also able to use the yoga shala with Keisha based on Richard's recommendation who was amazing. Rass Mandal is and was so above my expectations and imaginations, and the best house I have ever stayed at over a weekend.

Family Reunion at Rass Mandal

We had an amazing week staying at Rass Mandal. Richard could not have been a better host. Our family had room to spread out with privacy, but also get together for meals or pool time. The house was well stocked with more than enough supplies for everyone. Would definitely go back!

Early Fall at Rass Mandal

Our family gathering in early October at Rass Mandal was a wonderful experience. Everyone in our group enjoyed the stay. The weather was perfect. The house is spectacular. The pool, hot tub and sauna were so nice. Santa Fe is a lovely, historic southwest town with so much to offer and Rass Mandal is a great place to stay while exploring. Richard, the host is very welcoming and accommodating. He is available at all times, communicates exceeding well but does not step in when not needed. Nothing but praise for this facility and its management. We would gladly return.

Out of This World

This property is so special. It is one of the most interesting and beautiful places we have ever stayed. It has all the amenities one could possibly want for a relaxing getaway. The location was perfect, with easy access to all the art and restaurants in town, plus the privacy and space we prefer. The furnishings, art and overall vibe of the home are just beyond cool. Richard was an excellent host and a pleasure to work with. We highly recommend this vacation spot.

AMAZING

We rented the house to celebrate my daughters 30th birthday. Staying at Rass Mandal made it that much more special. The house, the property and views are amazing. I never thought staying in a house could be so much fun! Every room in this house is a experience of its own. We all literally loved just being at the house and and didn’t want to leave to go out.

Comfortable and unique accommodations

We stayed here over Christmas break. Our family of 7, ranging from age 6 to 72, enjoyed the property. The views are gorgeous, the hot tub and sauna were luxurious, and the house was warm and inviting. We did a few hikes and the kids enjoyed the snow. I loved the meditation space and there was plenty of room for the family to both spread out and come together. Richard was helpful and quick to respond throughout the process. This is a special house in a special place. I hope to return with friends for a retreat.

Unplug, unwind, and forget about the world

Unique home. Great deck and pool too

The Rass Mandel House has a personality of its own Our group really enjoyed the decks and pool. My only criticism would be the house not having air conditioning. Our first day was very hot but the guests eventually adjusted. We didn’t get to meet Richard but his partner Leslie met us and was very helpful.

Absolutely breathtaking.

I have never stayed in a more beautiful home in my entire life. The account for every detail in this house kept me busy for days. I have never been to Sante Fe, and this house made me not want to explore but stay in! Did yoga every morning in the pavilion, had wine up in the observatory, and had plenty of room for all my friends. The owner was super responsive, gave great instructions and tips for the area! I’ve never booked the same VRBO twice, but this one I definitely will.

Magnificent!

Words cannot describe this magnificent house! You have to experience the pleasure of staying here. The first moment you drive in, your eyes cannot take it all in. The vast landscape has beautiful statues, chimes, and art objects. It even has a wooden swing set for the kids. They loved it! The views are spectacular! The house itself is a masterpiece. So many art pieces and paintings. The rooms are all spacious. Comfortable beds and furniture . We all enjoyed the back area with the great heated swimming pool, hot tub, fire pit and incredible views. Richard, the owner, was very welcoming and took care of every detail . We will definitely return!

One of a kind

Property is one of a kind -- really all sorts of out of the ordinary and surprising details. It would take far more than a week to absorb it all. Views are great. Pool is as advertised. I didn't register the yoga studio before I arrived, but that was great too. A lot, and I mean a lot of care was and clearly continues to be put into every detail of the house, not just from room to room, but from wall to wall, shelf to shelf, tile to tile. We were a big group, perhaps too big so the fact that there were only 3 bathrooms in the main house felt like a downside. But overall we were happy.

Oasis - Did you see the photos?

A group of 10 women coming from various locations across the country gathered for a larger retreat and found out once at Rass Mandal - we arrived at our own private retreat. This place not only has an amazing story, but was built with the feminine "energy" in mind. RM is filled with gorgeous art, sensuous colors and lines of furniture. When I arrived I quickly stated, "my goal is to not sit in the same seat twice". And I did a good job, still not trying all of them! Everywhere you see you see a new story in front of you. I had no need to go anywhere else - this is luxury and home sweet home all in one... with a dash of another (mystical if you will) world. Richard is a rock star - I'd stay at any of his properties (managed by him). Cheers

AMAZING

This house...is so hard to describe! The beautiful details to the structure put together with Richard's great taste in furnishings and chaskas gave us more than we ever expected! The pictures and virtual tour simply do not do this property justice! We stayed 3 nights and I'm sure we still missed something! This is a very unique house with a lot of history mixed in. Everyone said their beds were so comfy. The house has all of the modern amenities not even mentioned on the website. From the big swings and fountain in front, the ENTIRE house, to the panoramic view, the back is like being in a world all to yourself. We spent most of our time at the house although we had plans to !explore Santa Fe more-because we loved spending time inside and out. Above and beyond expectations-RENT this place-you will be sad to leave! Richard had everything ready for us upon arrival and the house wasn't missing a thing that we needed! Thank you Richard! I hope to come back and stay again some day!

Petite Trianon for The Ready

The dot com'ers, the "one percenters", the Nouveau Riche, simply can not compete with the great families who transmit the best of society across generations...Rass Mandal, as with all great mansions of the patrician, gentry, and nobility classes is a media with a message that transmits cultural epitomes that are universal. Petite Trianon in scope and perhaps even purpose one can not help but be transformed. If one is both lucky and ready, the transformation will be permanent. From the hollow core silverware in the chest of fine tableware, to intricate carved wood, rose marble floors throughout, one is in the presence of master exotic craftsmen both Indian and American Southwest. In keeping with the Eastern origins of this estate, balance is literally demanded of all who enter...numerous sets of stairs with irregular pitches indoors and outside rarely have handrails and need care for each step...all the more to live in every second of experience of this marvelous world. As one of our party put it, "It is difficult to remember we are in America" since the scene is so exotic and authentic.

Magical and Phenomenal Experience!

Amazing girlfriend trip!!! 5 Goddess women who were enraptured in the magic of Richard's home. There were Buddhas and rainbows everywhere. Outside Santa Fe scenery was magnificent. No one wanted to leave the home - we named the house "The Rainbow Villa" and we cancelled dinner reservations twice in Santa Fe so we could spend our evenings at home. Beautiful energy throughout the space - and be sure to watch the sunset each night - gorgeous! We loved seeing the Milky Way at night from the roof and hot tub, don't forget to turn on the rainbow lights outside each night, rainbows dancing on the walls in each room, great sound system, fabulous kitchen with kiva fireplace. Loved the yoga space and enchanting meditation areas throughout. Only about 10 min to the Plaza. The space is about 7700 ft above sea level (Santa Fe is 7200 ft above sea level) so expect to feel it and drink lots of water. Richard was very attentive to the magic and energy at Rass Mandal and was lovely explaining the home and answering all questions. Comfortable beds, fluffy towels, no one watched tv - because who needed tv in this space!! The 5 of us will never forget this 2018 experience at Rass Mandal in early Oct! It was beyond "over the top". So peaceful, restorative and quiet. We will return someday.

Beautiful property with amazing views

We stayed at Rass Mandall for the week between Christmas and New Year's. It was a beautiful place, we only wished the weather was not so cold and snowy so that we could enjoy the outdoor areas more. There was plenty of room for our family, although sitting areas inside would be a challenge for a large group. There is a large dining area with 10 seats and lots of seating outside on the decks and pool areas, but limited cushioned indoor seating otherwise. Don't expect to snuggle up in a comfy chair or couch to watch TV. The main TV is in the dining room and the other in the master bedroom pretty far from the bed. With it being a snowy week for my school-age kids, we unfortunately wished we had had a giant couch to snuggle and watch TV during our stay. But in the summer, my guess is TV would not be on and wouldn't be an issue. But thought I'd share this challenge for those folks bringing school age kids during the winter months...My kids loved doing the UrbanAdventures.com scavenger hunt through Santa Fe and hitting up all of the local restaurants recommended by Divers Drive-ins and Dives. One is right down the road from this house. Richard's decorations are impressive and unique. I counted 500+ decorations on the walls and loved all the nooks and crannies of the house. It's like staying in a 5-star hotel and historic castle all at once. The kitchen is well stocked, but recommend you eat out as much as possible as Santa Fe food is amazing! If you like luxurious, unique places to stay, this is must-see on your list!

A destination in and of itself

Yes, we visited Santa Fe... but Rass Mandal was the true star of our holiday trip. It is truly a special destination, with a superlative host to match. Richard is thoughtful, attentive (after an overnight snowstorm, shovelers were sent up before I'd made it through my morning coffee!), thorough, and available whenever you need him but scarce when not. He does an excellent job of making you feel welcomed to and at home in this luxury property. The home is gorgeous and in excellent condition with special, artistic touches too numerous to list. The kitchen is kitted out with everything you'd need and luxury brands (plenty of Le Creuset). Toiletries are top-notch. There's radiant floor heating, so even in the winter it's a cozy hideaway. The sound system throughout the home is excellent. It's very private. The property has much to explore with a beautiful swingset for kids, myriad hidden "treasures," and several great hikes nearby. I can go on and on. Definitely explore the property's website and know that all is even better than pictured. A few things to note: the road up can get slippery in the winter months. If you don't have an all-wheel vehicle, Richard will graciously offer to ferry you back and forth. There are many precious items in the home at varying heights- my kids are a little older, but it would've been difficult traveling with true toddlers intent on exploring (or I would've had to have been watching them every second). If you have the opportunity to stay at Rass Mandal, don't pass it up- being in this magical place was truly a wonderful way to start the new year!

What a beautiful paradise!

The photos don’t do this place justice! It is stunning. And there is plenty of property to explore. The pool was perfect to jump into after a morning hiking or exploring Santa Fe (which is about 15 minutes away). The kitchen is very well appointed. The bedrooms feel luxurious. And Richard was a very accommodating host.

It has set the standard for all future family reunion dwellings.

There were 10 of us, 8 adults and two children. Our 43 and 35 year old sons and spouses did the check-in as we arrived later. They indicated that Richard was very nice, polite and thorough in his tour/check-in. The home is spacious with multiple gathering areas. The pool and hot tub are awesome. We did not use the sauna. Our daughter and grandchildren “camped out” in the cabin one of the nights and found it comfortable. We enjoyed the fire pit, the kids got out a lot of pre bedtime zoomies in the yoga pavilion. The upstairs observation area was awesome and the views from there are stunning. Downsides or things we noticed that could be improved upon: the primary bathroom sinks do not drain well, the little bridge over the pool needs some anti-skid treads, we could have used some tissues, but made do by using toilet tissue to blow noses, I enjoyed the sunken tub/shower in the primary bathroom several times and even enjoyed some face time with a couple of deer. I would have liked a grab bar of some kind to assist in entering and exiting the tub. I found the decor lovely, but a few in my family thought it was too much for their taste. Beautiful pieces, reflection of the owners tastes and travels. Overall, it was a very positive experience in this home. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring Santa Fe and surrounding towns.
