Taronga Zoo is the perfect place to encounter Australia's wildlife. And, with more than 2,500 animals representing 340-plus species, Taronga has the entire world covered. Taronga Zoo is a 12-minute ferry ride from Circular Quay. Disembark at the Zoo Wharf, grab a map and climb aboard the Sky Safari for the scenic cable-car ride to the top of the hill. Australian native animals are strongly represented at the zoo, including koalas, Tasmanian devils, echidnas and kangaroos. Pay a visit to the Nocturnal House where you’ll see many of Australia’s marsupials at play, including the platypus and the bilby, Australia’s answer to the Easter Bunny.Enjoy the playful antics of the juvenile Asian elephants and see the ring-tailed lemurs as they swing through their enclosure. Instead walk directly to the zoo entrance 2 minutes from the ferry landing, purchase your ticket there as there are no lines instead of what they said at the Circular Quay! You need to realize that you will be going up instead of down but saving a lot of time waiting for the tram. ### 4/5 - Good ROBERT Make sure to allow as much time as you can, as the park is huge and can be confusing to navigate through. So beautiful, though, so it is definitely worth it. The ferry ride over is nice too. ### 3/5 - Okay Verified traveler We had difficulty following the map given us on entry. Therefore we missed many presentations that we would like to have seen.
