The location to the downtown shops and restaurants was wonderful. Parking was easy in offsite garage. Overall, the hotel was just okay. Not luxurious as stated in their description. The folks at reception were not very friendly. I expressed disappointment when they told me I wouldn’t get points for the stay (on their rewards site) because I booked through a third party. Makes no sense. On checkout, I asked again and the young lady told me I would get premium benefits from Expedia, such as an upgrade! This was not told to me at check-in!
The hotel is unique, having been a bank. Although the lobby area isn’t large, it was fine for our group of 7 to meet and talk. However, the sofas were very worn and not clean; dirt and debris on the inside between cushion and sofa. The woman bartending was very friendly. Our room was large enough for two comfortable chairs and a small table but it only had one small chair. No other place to sit except the bed, which I don’t like to do in street clothes. There was only one luggage rack; I put my suitcase on the small “footstool” chair for the desk. Luxurious would have comfortable chairs (for two people) and plenty of space for open luggage. The bathroom was very nice; updated with two sinks. This morning we ate at the hotel and the young man was doing his best to take orders, cook and take payment. Food tho was mediocre. Bottomline, we would not stay there again. Too expensive and in need of attention to call it luxurious.
