Homewood Suites VA Beach/Norfolk experienced a power outage last weekend during my stay & I have yet to be able to speak with a manager regarding my concerns. We booked this location away from the oceanside because of the many features it had...Pool, Hot Tub/Jacuzzi, Bar Lounge, and Breakfast. We were unable to cancel our reservations, even with Hurricane Ian being a factor. We checked into our room on Friday and once we got settled, we left to have dinner and when we decided on having a drink at the bar before heading to the pool and jacuzzi. Unfortunately, the power was knocked out and did not come on until mid-morning Saturday. This outage(even though uncontrolled) basically cheated, us out our weekend getaway. How may you ask? With the power going out on the first night of our stay...none of the luxury amenities that this location offered were available, not to mention any of the basics such as elevator; heating/cooling; television/cable; hot water for a bath...nothing! We thought when the power came back on Saturday morning we'd at least able to get a hot shower and some breakfast, but no! No hot water(it was hot later) & surprisingly no breakfast - not even cold cereal or coffee? Exhausted after getting no sleep our first night - we took a brief trip to the shore for sightseeing and shopping, only to have to return in order to get some rest. Went to dinner locally(too tired to venture far) & turned in early, since checkout was 11am Sunday. When I checked out there was
