"I purchased a Lake View Room, when I arrived they said my room was not available yet and moved me to another room. I could see the lake only if I stood behind the T.V. All three windows had no view at all. When I brought it up to staff they said that the room qualified as a Lake View and would not reimburse me or move me to another room. I told them at most this room should be a partial lake view and they wouldn’t listen. It’s a money grab, be careful with this one. Soda and water bottles in the lobby are $8 each and the hotel removed the vending machines on the floors forcing you to go downstairs. There’s way better hotels in Chicago. This one is a microcosm to everything wrong with Chicago."

"We have always loved staying at the Congress over the past few years. This was the first time we were disappointed. We asked for our 2 rooms to be close together but we were on opposite ends of the same floor. Our room was hot and the in unit air conditioner barely worked. Maintenance was sent to help but to no avail. It wasn’t the best experience. "
