“Lovely hotel set on South Sands beach. Room nice - we had one looking out over road and car park - seaview ones more expensive. Walls are thin and you hear the plumbing system in morning when others are using their bathrooms. Breakfast is a delight, overlooking the sea and choice is excellent. You can take the boat from the beach to Salcombe town fir under a fiver. We did it one-way and walked back. Lovely coastal walk just over a mile so not too far. Road access to the hotel is quite……

“Quiet with great food, staff and comfortable room”

“Really comfortable B&B, the owners were really hospitable and the breakfasts were prob one of the best I have ever had. Dog friendly and super cute that they provided dog treats in the room. Only small thing is the jacuzzi was wood fired and they needed 6 hours notice if you wanted to use it and felt there was a bit of reluctance around asking to use it. ”

“Absolutely fabulous few days away. This is a real gem of a hotel. Quiet and secluded but a real joy to experience. The staff are so helpful and genuine (Rosie, Sharon and Oliver deserve medals) There was plenty of choice for breakfast, the cooked breakfast was tasty and well presented. The evening dinner menu and quality of food was 10/10. I think it could be even better with a slightly extended menu. We will be back x”

“Simply perfect for a memorable stay in the heart of Dartmoor. We hadn't planned to stay until a few days before hand, but having seen the fantastic weather forecast decided to book (initially) a 1-night stopover on our way from Shropshire to Looe in Cornwall. When we started to research Ramblers Rest, we simply had to make it a 2-night mini-break, as it sounded so good. We were not disappointed. “We had a lovely stay at the Imperial. Although on arrival we thought the exterior looked tired and was worried about what the interior would be like. Nevertheless we needed not to be concerned as it is in a very good condition internally. Our room was a nice size and probably one of the most comfortable beds I have ever had at a hotel. The breakfast was of a good standard. One tiny complaint is they I had to.pay for the car park. Overall it’s a lovely hotel, nice staff and a very pleasant stay……
