“Often drive past the Welldiggers pub, and decided to stay for a wedding event for a couple of nights. Room was lovely and cosy, view was even better. Great little stay.”
“We paid for a suite - from the photos - we were expecting a roll top bath in the room. What we got was a small bath in a mouldy shower room with a couple of plastic cups, a capsule of long life milk and a mattress that probably predated the hotel.
Staff were kind and friendly but clearly exhausted.
The hotel room price did not represent good value for money - it’s possible we bought during a busy season.
If the room had cost £80-90, I wouldn’t have taken the time to be critical. I don’t……
“Room was very dirty. Pillows had stains on them. The carpet had stains and the walls were peeling and had stains. The silicon around the sink and shower was dirty and had mildew. Dead flies on the window sills. Drawer inside the bathroom was laying on the floor. Rising damp on the bathroom ceiling and the bathroom fan was dusty. Grotty room overall. Breakfast was nice and the staff were nice and friendly.”
“This old coaching inn is a wonderful mixture of old and new. Due to lots of steps it is not accessible for people who have mobility difficulties. The breakfast was cooked to order, which was really nice, and the service was good. The spa facilities are excellent and well worth a try. There's a great Italian restaurant just round the corner if you fancy a meal out too.”
“This was our first time visiting Arden House and we are so glad we went. Lucie was a fantastic host and gave us a lovely welcome. We stayed at room 3 on the ground at the back of the property, and the room was brilliant. It was immaculately clean, bright and airy with two lovely big bay windows. It had a great en-suite toilet, basin and shower with towels, complimentary shower gel, slippers and dressing gown. There was tea and coffee making facilities/kettle cups etc. and two bottles of water……
“Had a very enjoyable stay here, Used as base to visit NT properties in the area.
Very nice and well appointed room and superb breakfasts and lovely helpful staff.”
“There was no where to get a decent bean to cup coffee once the cafes had closed at 5pm. The bar in the actual hotel was closed - the Tap were not serving coffee and there were no decaf pods in our room - when asked for decaf coffee pods I was told they didn't have any. Really surprised the bar was closed as on the Sunday there was a 1940' revival in the square. We did not include breakfast but purchased it on the Monday - this was over £15 and was not brilliant - the day before we went……
“I really enjoyed my stay here. There were biscuits and fresh milk which was a lovely treat! The radio was a nice touch and the TV had access to Netflix and YouTube.
WiFi connection was a bit hot and miss but wasn't a massive issue. The bed was very comfy. I felt very relaxed staying here. I will definitely visit again!”
