“Amazing sunsets, beautiful secure gated property, close to Kona airport, Costco and Kailua, yet quiet and away from tourists. Door handle is tricky, so just pull handle up instead of pushing handle down after entering code. Higher elevation, so cools off at night making sleeping very comfortable. Sometimes you hear kids thumping around upstairs. Coqui frogs and murmuring ducks provide lovely nighttime orchestra. Bed is comfortable. Host very responsive to needs and may sell you tasty farm fresh……

“A great deal and situated on Alicia drive south of the Kailua-Kona nightlife district. The place was clean and comfortable and very attractively priced. Definitely the Hawaiian Hale experience! The landlord was very nice and obviously invested in our having a pleasant stay. To access the unit younger to climb a stairwell - don't rent this unit if you are unable to handle stairwells or have small (mobile not babies!) children. Perfect for a couple! “It was a nice stay with a bedroom separated from the kitchen by a large barn door. The driveway was narrow but typical for the area and we could park right in front of the apartment. It had a full-sized refridgerator but no ice tray and no microwave. Except for the occasional barking dog it was quiet and the coqui frogs sang us to sleep.”

“Wish the a.c. was in the bedroom as the livingroom would be freezing but the bedroom would be stfling. There was no elevator in the building, but there was a photo of one in the listing, which i found to be deceptive. Had i known it was a 3-story walkup, we would not have booked. The apartment was clean and nicely renovated. The listing also stated a washer and dryer but it was a combo machine which didnt dry the clothes even with additional dry cycles. We had to hang our clothes to dry……
