"Very clean. Very efficient design of space and modern. It would have been nice to have more hooks and a deeper shelf to put our things but we are only in our room to sleep. It was really all we needed. I really appreciated how ecofriendly they are, not even having plastic lids for the coffee cups in the lobby. The lobby was staffed 24 hours a day and the staff were all very helpful. They followed the Golden Rule."

"What an absolute find, a true revelation. Okay, Newport itself may not be the most salubrious of towns, but the Mercure Hotel is in a league of its own. The hotel is situated right in the town centre, very close to the Friars Walk Shopping Centre and it’s undercover 24 hour car park.
