"Everything was great had a good night . Was at a party in their function room and I would love to have my birthday party there in November. Honestly best night in a long time time! 5star"

Shrigley Hall Hotel and Spa

"We stayed in a family room and to be honest it was completely run down. There were water stains on the walls which looked like there was a leak. Only 2 out of 4 of the lights worked. And the 2 that did had different coloured bulbs in. The bathroom was clean however the bath panel was awful and needed replacing and the shower was a nightmare to try and work. The room overall really needs updating. We felt like because it was a family room it had just been out at the back of the hotel and neglected. Breakfast was okay. They had our jam out instead of ketchup and the eggs were very greasy. We wouldn’t return which is such a shame as the hotel itself looks lovely as soon as you walk in."

"For what we paid the hotel was value for money. The staff were lovely and helpful (reason for 4 stars). The breakfast was good. The gardens and views from the hotel were lovely however there was not much within walking distance (apart from canal) . Didn't feel the evening meal was value for money, particularly the butterfly chicken burger which was advertised on the menu as butterfly chicken with cheese, fries and rocket salad. In my opinion the cheese tasted like a cheese sauce out of a bottle and was cold and the salad consisted of a few leaves inside the burger."

"We stayed for 3 night's and the manager and staff were very welcoming throughout our stay. The manager was very kind to give all of us upgrades which was a very pleasant surprise. Bedding/towels were very nice. Breakfast was very agreeable. You could choose from both continental and cooked items From the menu. Perfect spot for us as we were there visiting family/fiends in the area. Lots of great pub/restaurants to choose from in the surrounding areas."

"A lovely historic building, looks great from the outside but, on closer inspection, in need to significant refresh / maintenance update to get up to the standard that one would expect for a Champneys branded site. Main issues ( which were very evident ) were chipped / scuffed paintwork on most external and also internal doors ; very thin walls with no soundproofing, meaning that one could hear conversations from people passing the room ; lack of Air Conditioning ( in this day and age ! ) ; lack of hot water, meaning that taking a decent bath was not possible."
