Eagles Retreat, a 4000 SQ FT private retreat with over 1500 sq ft of wrap around wood deck and seating areas plys separate flagstone patio, with tables and chairs. Nestled among the beautiful Ponderosa Pines in Strawberry, north of Payson, Arizona. A short 1.5 hour drive from Phoenix, enjoy the peace and tranquility as your closest neighbor is the Tonto National Forest.

The thoughtful design of Eagles Retreat comfortably sleeps 28, with 5 private bedrooms, 3 full baths (master bath has a jacuzzi tub), a loft, family room with hide-a-beds, living room with hide- a- beds, wood-burning fireplaces in family room, electric fireplace in living room, and large cathedral-style windows, gorgeous decks and unbelievable views of the Ponderosa Pines. We even supply the firewood!!
With the modern, fully stocked kitchen, entertain your closest friends and family outside on the 315-degree wrap around wood deck, or on the natural flagstone patio by the beautiful fountain. Serve dinner in the dining room that seats 10 and a secondary table that seats 8.

Load and start the dishwasher
Strip any used beds and gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks, and take out the trash
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
- place all used sheets, towels and pillowcases in hampers and place in the laundry room. (Please do not include comforters -or blankets unless they are dirty)
- put furniture and other things back where you found them - garbage container on the breezeway is for your convenience- please empty it and all trash from the cabin into the large green dumpster
At the door you originally entered with the keypad- press the circle to wake up, then your code, then the ✅ button- you will hear the door locking then something like a dog barking

Our family of 12, which included adults and 4 grans (ages 9-15) stayed 3 nights and 4 days. We had the best time! Not only is the home beautiful but the surrounding area is breath taking. The wildlife which comes to visit several times a day was an added bonus. The home owner was so helpful, making sure we knew all the important information regarding directions to the home, ideas of what to bring, things to do and all the answers to FAQ. The home is not only fully furnished but the fact the panty is loaded with every kitchen item and spice you could ask for is so helpful. We will for sure be booking another trip as soon as possible.

Back to Basics Mini Retreat

This was the perfect location for our mini retreat. The kitchen was ideal for our time together to cook and talk. The deck and surrounding property was also petfect for our mindfulness acrivites. . Everything was just what we needed.

Great Place for a Family Retreat

This home was the perfect place for our family. It was clean, had a well-equipped kitchen, and was large enough to accommodate our wants and needs. We loved the walk-around porch, the daily elk and other wildlife visits, and the close proximity to shops. We will definitely return!

GREAT GETAWAY!

This was out 2nd visit to the property and it once again didn't disappoint. Tons of space to visit, socialize, sleep, etc. The scenery and elk can't be beat! Communication with the host was exceptional and we had an incredible weekend.

We were all very excited couldn’t wait for our trip to Eagles Retreat since the time we booked. It did not disappoint!! It is a beautiful cabin and located in an amazing area with beautiful views of the mountains from the wrap around deck. There were plenty of activities for the kids and adults. What an excellent way to escape the daily grind and just relax!

Family reunion trip

I booked this trip to get my family together for a few days to celebrate some birthdays. When we arrived we were very impressed by the cabin. It was easy to check in, clean and more impressive than the pictures. My family enjoyed spending time in the spacious rooms but more than that they enjoyed watching the wildlife. The game room was a big hit with some of my family, and the kids enjoyed playing on the playground and around in nature. The check out process was just as easy.

Great Get Away Home.

This home is a perfect home to just get away and relax. There is plenty of ways for all ages to be entertained. We stayed 3 days but honestly could have stayed longer and not been bored. The views for the deck was amazing and the fresh air was just what we needed. If you are looking for a house that you can stay in and not have to go places to be entertained this is. But on top of that their is plenty of sight seeing and hikes nearby.

Wonderful getaway!

Our family of 12 had a great time at Eagles Retreat! The house was spacious and very well appointed. Plenty of room and tons of seating everywhere! Jeanay was about as attentive as she could possibly be! She followed up with all of my texts, and was amazingly helpful! The only constructive criticism that we had was that the game room could use a freshening/cleaning up. The house itself was immaculate! We definitely look forward to returning!

Birthday Weekend

We got away for a birthday weekend with our Family of 19! From entering the property we knew it was going to be a fantastic stay. We had toddlers from 1yr-2r and teenagers that were never bothering us with the “I’m bored mom” phrase lol! Tons for them to do inside and out. Toys for our babies and safety gates that we set up to keep them from going upstairs. During the whole stay we had views of elks coming to eat and we were all entertained watching them come and go. Property owner was reachable at all times which was great! We will definitely be back for a second stay !

Beautiful & spacious

Wonderful property with plenty of space to move around if you’re a large group. We were 15. Elk visit a few times a day literally 20-30 ft from balcony. Kitchen super stocked with essentials & then some. There was a grouchy neighbor (by volleyball court) & lack of power for several hours while solar panels were being worked on (neither issue owner was aware of & not her fault). We’d still go back!

Awesome Rental - A++++++++

I don’t know where to start to tell you how wonderful Eagles Retreat is. Our family just spent five days here - it’s the BEST VRBO we have done in AZ and we have rented many. We spent 95% of our time out on the back deck because the wildlife is plentiful from the twice daily visiting elk (we had 26 at one time) to the squirrels (3 babies too) and the several varieties of birds. Our granddaughters loved it. Jeanay, the property contact, was so accommodating and quick to respond by text. The home has everything you will need and more. We can’t wait to rent again next summer - even thinking about to renting again in the winter!! Thank you for sharing this amazing home!!

Fabulous Family Vacation!

We celebrated my husband's 70th birthday with our children and grandchildren. We enjoyed the weather, the large cabin, the elk, the view, the forest dirt trails behind us, the play equipment outside, being close to the one room school house, our visit to fire station 41 and 42, hiking at the pizza from Old County Inn, fudge, cooking on the grill, the game room, The Weekender restaurant, family bonding time, hiking at the Tonto Natural Bridge. We also liked how organized everything was especially in the kitchen; plus we appreciated how kind and helpful Jeanay was when I asked a million questions. Our only complains was the water saving feature shut our water off at 9 PM after we did dishes, two grandkids bathed together in the master tub, and one person showered. We were worried about not being able to use the toilets and being able to clean up that evening and the following day. It did come back on by the time we woke the next AM at 4. With that being our only negative, we still give the overall experience five stars and would recommend the Eagle's Retreat to others. We hope to return.
