“Room was very dirty. Pillows had stains on them. The carpet had stains and the walls were peeling and had stains. The silicon around the sink and shower was dirty and had mildew. Dead flies on the window sills. Drawer inside the bathroom was laying on the floor. Rising damp on the bathroom ceiling and the bathroom fan was dusty. Grotty room overall. Breakfast was nice and the staff were nice and friendly.”
“Beautiful room, stylish and cosy. Really wonderful breakfast in bed. The lounge was lovely for a quiet drink in the evening. All short walk from the sea.
Best of all were Mark and Richard who were so kind, friendly, and generous.
We'll definitely go back.”
“This property has a great location, at a reasonable price.
My room was at the very top of the house, in the eves, so a sloping ceiling. It has an en suite shower room.
Room was clean but could do with an update.
Good coffee/tea making facilities with kettle, microwave and mini fridge, as well as lots of snacks provided.”

The property is well kept
The only thing I did not like was the way Expedia described and showed the room we booked on the web site.
It was shown as on the bottom floor with the exit on to the garden and bigger room .”
“This is an old style cottage in a rural setting, which does'nt have the best access, however once there the location is surrounded by woodland and fields which are pleasant. The Lady of the house is a charming individual who was welcoming.
The breakfast catered for dietary needs and was wholesome.
In general a comfortable stay with no frills, but enjoyable none the less.
We would use Bridge Cottage again if we visited the area.”

My thoughts:
The Cottage is directly next to a busy road, which l did not know.
I had to park in a tiny space in front of the cottage and luckily had a small car, very tight parking with heavy traffic hindering any manourvres.
The room and Cottage were quite dated, perfectly clean, but expensive for a basic 1980s type decor.
The shower over the bath was either extremely hot or very cold, l tried to find a warm temperature but never did.
I was disapointed……
“The staff are very helpful and friendly. The food and beer is good and great value. Parking is a bit tight, so arrive early if you are checking in!
If you want to eat, make sure you reserve a table. We found out the hard way on Saturday lunchtime that you can't always get a meal, even if you are a resident.
Other than that, it's a good place to stay. It's quiet at night due to the location and the fact that the bar isn't open until late.”
“This old coaching inn is a wonderful mixture of old and new. Due to lots of steps it is not accessible for people who have mobility difficulties. The breakfast was cooked to order, which was really nice, and the service was good. The spa facilities are excellent and well worth a try. There's a great Italian restaurant just round the corner if you fancy a meal out too.”
