9/10 Wonderful! (329 reviews)
The Hotel is in an old building that looks nicely maintained. There's a pub there, a coffee shop/cafe, and some nice outdoor patio/seating areas. There is no hotel staff on site. We did not receive the check in instructions before our arrival and had to scramble with help from the restaurant staff and a property manger for some apartments attached to the hotel to help us (the mix up may have been by the remote hotel management staff or and issue with Expedia messaging). The room was bleak, very inexpensive furniture and beds, with primer paint patches on a few walls and a 5 cm diameter hole in another. After placing the booking, the hotel had messaged us about street noise, particularly on the weekends. It would be nice if they let you know that before booking as if seems like the agreed upon smoking section was right below our room.
We would not stay there again. It's a shame, because the property (other than the actual room) is pretty nice and it's a cute little town with a nice downtown and some decent restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. The lack of staff on site is also an issue for us; one of the advantages of a hotel is having that support. Without it, you might as well find a short term rental.
