This home can and should be your escape whether for a day, weekend, or extended stay. Life above the clouds and overlooking an idyllic Clifftops valley with a 12-mile vista captures that opportunity. Perfect location for Sewanee Alumnus to house entire families on game days or special events when lodging is at such a premium. Breathtaking, endless panoramic views will become your new state of mind in this custom home with an open flow that invites the lush, green outside in as one. From the moment you enter, architecturally designed double vaulted ceilings of the spacious family room direct you to spectacular views that surround it and outdoor areas expand the interior living areas outside - both covered and uncovered. Family, dining and sun rooms and kitchen open to one another with each capturing the scenic horizons. Expansive master suite is privately tucked away on the main level embracing each view even from the lush master bath and soaking tub. Always requested but rarely available, this mountain home can sleep 12 people if needed using the pull-out sofa beds in each den.

Natural light fills every room to include all of those located in the sunlit, walk-out lower level which provides the ideal guest house within the main house. Two bedrooms and a spacious gathering room/rec room with fireplace, pool/ping pong table and a full kitchen completely open to one another making up this comfortable guest space. Autumn on the mountain.

The house was great and has a spectacular view. The kitchen is convenient and well stocked. Clifftops is such a peaceful development. This was our second time staying here and will certainly return soon!

Great accommodation for a large family in the area for a wedding.

It gave us space for Groom’s family: parents, grandparents siblings and some wedding party and a few +1’s. The downstairs was great for the young adults and the upstairs was wonderful for the older set. The owner was great and very communicative. Very close to wedding events and venue.

Property is fantastic. Lots of room for our large group of adults and room for our students at Sewanee to visit. Views from the deck and screened porch are fabulous - it was so pleasant out there that anyone at the house during the day spent their time out there. Our one nit is the listing says 5 bedrooms, but there are only 4 plus the media room, which is fine, but the listing says the media room has a queen bed, but it is a sleeper/sofa. The listing should be clearer on the sleeping arrangements.

Family Memorial Service

Gary was great and his property was as nice as described. Was just what we needed to help us get through our loss and lift our spirits. Very relaxing and peaceful, I especially liked the sunroom and the cliffside bench.

IT was good,but it said 5 bedrooms it was only 4 ,we are all older some had to sleep on pull outs.Needs instructions on were supplies are towels, blankets wifi and hall bathroom drains very slow

Great location for Sewanee Tn area!

Easily handled our family’s four couples. Very spacious home with an iconic cliff’s edge view of the Cumberland Plateau Valley. Great sunrises! Evena large flat rock on the cliff with bench for incredible views. Great kitchen, well appointed and the beds were very comfortable. Great location for Sewanee activities or a few miles drive to State Park hikes and water falls. The gated community also offers miles of hikes with excellent bird watching and they have a lake for canoeing. All in all a great vrbo location. One real issue that you should be aware of is the cliff. If I had toddlers or curious thrill seeking young children, I would be very nervous unless I was committed to watching each one every minute. The beauty of a cliff side view could quickly be eclipsed by a mistep and fall. Older children would be fine and I know everyone has different type kids and parenting approaches. Just be aware that a 100+ foot vertical unfenced drop is a 20 yard path walk to the cliff edge from the small back yard! The front yard is a glorious 2/10 mile winding gravel drive with acres hardwood forest that is fantastic for birding and walking or biking. We loved the house and will absolutely return. We were not turned off by its showing some signs of age. Nineties faucets and decor and color scheme. If you’re fussy about interior design, be aware this is not a new home, it has been lovingly lived in shows it. We loved it! The owner provided excellent communications. Highly recommended.

Enjoyed Monteagle and Clifftops

Our family of grandparents, parents and teenagers had a fun four nights. When it rained we played pool, ping pong and watched TV. The signal was good for our grandchildren to use their devices. When the weather was good we went to the lake and pool. Enjoyed birdwatching from the screened porch. A yellow-throated warbler visited every day!

The views!!

This home is quite beautiful as are the views it offers. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves during our five day stay. We had a little problem with lights, inside and out, but Gary was very responsive and we got it figured out. Overall, I give the property 5 stars, but only 4 for cleanliness and 4 for the property matching the description. The cleaners didn’t do a pass through of the house prior to our arrival as we found lots of dead bugs scattered throughout. The pics used in the listing are identical to ones used when the home sold a few years ago and while much of the furniture must have been purchased with the house, it isn’t all the same making me feel like the VRBO pics are a bit of false advertising. Again, all in all the home is lovely and is a great spot for large group gatherings.

No better property on the mountain

Thanks to Gary's hospitality and fantastic home on the mountain, my friends and I had the best homecoming experience. The house was clean, modern, spacious, and cozy for a weekend getaway in Sewanee. Would highly recommend to anyone!

Needs lots of TLC!!

This home could be fabulous. The location and view from the home is beautiful. The house has great potential. However, I have never been to a VRBO that was so dirty and unkept. We found mold in several things including seat cushions, remote controls, toilet. All of the fans were thick with dust. We found dirty dishes in the cabinets. If the owner is paying a company to mange his property he is being cheated. The house is showing it’s age and needs some TLC quick!!! I would not recommend anyone renting this house.
