“Delightful visit to The George and Dragon! Friendly and obliging staff, great pub, room and breakfast. Rooms renovated to a high standard and beautifully furnished. Loved the windows which could be opened to cool the room and bonus bath to relax in. Friendly bar staff when we had a drink in the pub before bed and lovely lady served us at breakfast. Really impressed and highly recommend a stay. 10/10”

“It’s a premier inn Self check in seemed ok a bit impersonal On arrival we were early and no power in hotel but all good we returned later It’s on a courtyard shared with sainsbury Penrith itself isn’t very inviting but the hotel is ok”

“From check in to check out the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. In fact, from when you pull into the car park you get the feeling it’s a special place. The building is a beautifully well maintained old building with some rather stunning modern extras. The room we had was spacious and beautifully presented, with a very comfy bed! Spacious bathroom with walk in shower. The bar area, lounge areas, breakfast and dinner room were clean, tidy, and again had that old style feel but with modern……

“This was an overnight stop on the Coast to Coast bike ride. The staff are great, property a little tired. Breakfast excellent. Relatively expensive but was a clean warm room bed for the night.”

“The Inn is perfectly located for enjoying Kirkby Stephen. The staff - especially Jacqui - is super helpful and kind. Really enjoyed our brief time there. Our friends who stayed down the street were wishing they had booked here. Be prepared to carry luggage upstairs and know the bed isn’t super big by American standards. ”

“Great hotel. The location is fantastic, the staff go above and beyond. A favourite spot for a getaway with opportunity to walk, visit High Force waterfall, have a drink in the cosy bar and dine in the elegant dining room. Breakfast was great - the food is obviously local and fresh.”

“Changed rooms due to excessive noise of the outside air-conditioning only to get a room which took your breathe away by the heat of the hot water pipe running through the room. Baring in mind it was still very hot outside. It's the first time we've slept in a room which was on par with a sauna. Not at all pleasant or comfortable. Told by reception they couldn't put the water pipe off as it supplied hot water for the other rooms. Very disappointed the room we had. All other parts of the hotel……
