“My husband, dog and I stayed for one night on a bed-and-breakfast booking. We chose Glaramara because it advertises itself as dog friendly, our experience was anything but.
On check-in, we were informed that the only area where dogs are permitted at breakfast had just two tables, both of which were already booked. Although the hotel had emailed beforehand to say space was limited, we did not expect that this would mean being unable to access the breakfast included in our stay.
We tried……
“Beautiful hotel. Very picturesque area. Lots of places to explore and ramble. Sofia at front desk was wonderful. Breakfast was amazing. Highly recommend.”
“The accommodation is very clean, free hot drinks while we stayed and staff very nice, it could do with a lick of paint in certain areas. The location is amazing for walking to both Grasmere and Ambleside. We went to the local pub to watch the badgers. The grounds of Rydal Hall are beautiful and include the grot and a waterfall, Would stay again.”
“The owner made us very welcome on arriving.
It was lovely to stay in a well maintained old property (16th century) with great character, with a welcoming open fire in the general sitting / dining area.
The bedroom window provided some lovely views of the fells.
Breakfast was good with plenty of choices. Eggs were provided by the free roaming hens in the garden.”
