"Property was in the middle of renovations. My room was excellent. All knew everything. Tv was new but remote control very difficult to operate. I don’t know how someone that is not tech savoy will be able to operate tv system. 3 days I didn’t master it. That was my only complaint about my stay. Staff was excellent. Loved the new rooms compared to what they used to be."

"This clean, beach-close hotel was an absolute delight. The location is perfect if you want easy access to the shore, and the hotel itself is spotless and well kept. From the moment we arrived, the staff stood out—everyone was super friendly, helpful, and genuinely kind. The cleaning team was also amazing: professional, thorough, and clearly take pride in keeping everything in great shape. The only downfall was getting to the beach—there’s a steep dirt trail that can feel challenging, especially if you’re traveling with bags or have someone with a torn ACL in your party (lol). But overall, it was a wonderful stay and I’d definitely come back for the cleanliness, comfort, and outstanding service."

"This hotel is currently undergoing renovations. When we checked in, the room appeared clean, but after walking barefoot for about 20 minutes while unpacking, my feet were black with dirt and dust. I immediately notified the front desk, and after we took a short walk with our dog, the room had been cleaned. The housekeeping staff was very friendly, but one day our room was not serviced. We were out for about five hours and returned around 3:00 p.m. to find it untouched. Since we planned to stay in for the rest of the day, I exchanged the towels and emptied the trash myself. I was told housekeeping prioritizes checkout rooms first, but I was surprised our room had not been serviced despite being vacant for several hours. We did not use the pool or breakfast, but appreciated having a Keurig coffee maker, microwave, and small refrigerator in the room, which made it easy to bring our own breakfast and snacks. The staff was consistently friendly and helpful, and I understand they are doing their best while finishing the remodel. One frustration was that two of the room lights were motion-activated and turned off automatically. Twice, the bathroom light shut off while it was in use, which was inconvenient. I appreciate sustainability efforts, but automatic shutoffs in the bathroom were frustrating. Overall, we had a pleasant stay. The hotel is dog-friendly, within walking distance of great restaurants and downtown Encinitas, and just a short distance from the beach."

"My family and I were planning a vacation to the San Diego area for my birthday and to celebrate my daughter’s high school graduation. After a long search we decided on this place and are so glad we did. The house was perfect and the views were absolutely breath taking. Chris the host was fantastic and the communication was exceptional. My family had an amazing time and I highly recommend this place. A"
