A good bar basics hotel, very easy check in with the electronic key. Good location, close to great stuff and the subway not fancy but a perfectly acceptable place for a night stay in New York

Perfect for the real NY experience. Smaller, cheaper rooms, an amazing rooftop view, fast WiFi, central AC and everything we wanted to do in the city was 2 subway lines away or right around the corner. The lady at the front desk was an angel and even when we came stumbling back in at 4am there were snacks waiting for us on the counter. After staying here I don’t think any other hotel makes sense coming back.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. However, probably not an ideal location to stay. You can hear other guests very clearly and the outside as well. We stayed in a room with a king sized bed so not very much walkway. If you need extra towels or toilet paper you are welcome to help yourself to them in their basement. The subway is right around the corner and cvs is right down the street.

The room was clean and tidy and all the amenities we needed were there. We were also able to grab our own downstairs whenever we needed more. All the staff was super sweet and helpful. It’s located near SoHo so there are lots of cute shops around a short walk away. We also had a thermostat in the room so we were able to adjust the temperature ourselves. The only thing was with our room being on the ground floor, it was a bit noisy. Other then that, it was a great stay and I would recommend to anyone going to New York!!

Staff was friendly and helpful. Loved the keyless entry but the email went to my spam folder so that threw me off. The room was superficially clean and the linens were clean. The tub was very slippery and there was mold. Also the water was really hot! Once I found out I could get my own clean towels downstairs that was awesome. Overall a safe basic property with some cool art and convenient location for me but could use deep cleaning of the shower

🏨 The Ridge is a very small, modern hotel with a great location. Our room was tiny, but it had everything we needed for a short stay. 🧼 Unfortunately, there was hair in the shower from the previous guest, which wasn’t a great first impression. 🛏️ The bed was extremely firm and I found it difficult to sleep comfortably. 📍 The location was fantastic. It’s close to everything but much quieter than staying around Times Square, which was a huge plus for us. ✨ Overall, it’s a good option if location is your priority, but the tiny rooms, cleanliness issue and very firm bed are worth knowing about.

A good budget hotel in the lower east side. Clean, functional and effective as a DIY hotel. The roof top terrace views are a bonus. There are shops and a variety of bars to suit all tastes closely with good subway links. A good value - no frills -out of Manhattan choice. Some problems with payment which took 4 days to resolve. I seemed to be the only one concerned about it. Otherwise an enjoyable stay. Worth noting they will only look after luggage for a few hours on your last day. It probably depends on staffing.

This is an excellent choice if looking to stay in the Lower east side. Extremely close to public transit, lots of shopping, entertainment, and restaurants. The area skews a bit young because it's a few blocks from NYU, but it's an incredible value if you're just looking for a home base to store your suitcase and sleep at night while exploring the city during the day.
