Modernity can also be found in these colorful timber houses, however. Olde Mistick Village hosts independent cinemas, stylish restaurants, artisan coffee shops and handicraft stores with products that are unique to this destination.
Stroll around the winding streets of the village to appreciate the old-world ambiance of the area. European settlers have lived in the Mystic region since the 1650s. By 1720 the town was flourishing. Olde Mistick Village is a recreation of that heyday, offering a glimpse into life in a bygone era.
Enjoy the charm of this colonial setting, stopping to admire details such as the waterwheel, the white-spired church or the pretty duck pond. The shaded paths are lined with benches and iron lamps, while many of the colorful buildings face blooming flower beds.

Olde Mistick Village is located just off the highway that runs along Connecticut’s coastline, north of Mystic’s town center. Drive here from Mystic Seaport in about 5 minutes or in less than 10 minutes from Mystic’s train station. Extensive parking facilities are available nearby. The village is open daily throughout the year and is completely free to explore.
