Private pool, pet friendly with a fenced yard, and just a block from the beach!

Cute and comfortable 3 bedroom 2 bath home with private pool. Just a quick walk to the beach. Back yard has a fenced-in area directly below back deck so you can just open the door in the morning and let your four legged friends outside. Bike path is right in front of your door. Enjoy a cup of coffee in the mornings or a glass of wine in the evenings on the screened porch overlooking the Gulf. Fully stocked kitchen and amazingly comfortable beds. Two king bedrooms and 3rd bedroom has a twin-over-full bunk bed. House sleeps 7. Master bath has huge walk-in shower.


**We strongly recommend the purchase of trip insurance to protect from acts of Nature and Life events.

2 1/2 STARS Functional But Needs Work
Positives: Private pool with lots of seating 4 new beach chairs & umbrella 6 beach towels/plenty of bath towels Comfortable mattresses. Sheets were worn-we brought our own bedding 2 working bikes after my husband worked on them. All appliances worked. Dishwasher needs a bracket to stabilize it in the cabinet. Nice area close to lighthouse Negatives: Deck doors are installed backward & do not lock. We went to the hardware store and purchased supplies to create a wedge to secure it. Vertical blinds at that door are broken/slats missing. We placed a sheet over that window with binder clips. We didn't open/use that door at all during our stay. One front window doesn't lock. We used a broom stick to secure it. All the windows were unlocked when we arrived. Screen doors on the deck are falling apart and the screens are torn Lots of sticker weeds in the yard/fenced area (we drove to Lighthouse Park to walk our dogs) Funtional but needs work

Property was not as listed. Pool was disgusting as well as the area around it. Both were covered in mold and mildew. Couch was torn, dishes were a mess and dirty. Dishwasher fell out of the cabinet. Ice maker and water both broken. Walls were filthy and marked up. Stairs to the bunk bed were broken. Pillows dirty and stained. Shower curtain dirty and mildew in the shower. The bikes were all broken. Owner was very responsive in the beginning regarding the pool and dishwasher but the second we left (5 days early) and asked for a refund, she ghosted us. We lost three days of swimming and it was obvious she had no interest in correcting any of the other problems. The property was absolutely misrepresented. Those photos may have been representative of what the property was two or three years ago but are definitely not what it is now. This owner stopped all communication with us AND VRBO regarding the situation. That is why I am posting this review. Be very careful booking this property!!!!

Owner was very responsive, and we had no problems. This is an older property with a big and deep pool which we really enjoyed. Place could use some TLC but it worked fine for the 6 of us. Would stay there again.

Great house!
We enjoyed the home. It is very well stocked. My first time staying on Gulf Dr. Bugs love me so I was covered with sprays. Beds were the BEST we have ever slept in on vacation!! The only issue was how to work the tvs. A cheat sheet would be nice for they were all different. Other that that it truly was a great home. Debbie and Mark

Our Vacation at Sunshine Dream
Overall, we had a great time. Pool was super. Inside was nice. The outside needs some painting done. Pool had some weeds around fence, but otherwise everything was great. We never found the lock to the pool. It was missing when we got there. Would stay there again.

St. George Sunshine Getaway
We loved the location and the private pool. It was an easy walk to the beach and the lighthouse area. However, plan on bringing your own beach chairs and towels. Of the 3 beach chairs on site only 1 was usable and there were only 3 beach towels. The kitchen was well equipped and the laundry area was a plus.

Pros: Location was great near the beach and we loved the island. Beds were comfy as advertised. Pool was nice and big. The manager was a nice guy and usually easy to reach. But doesn’t always respond right away. Cons: Cockroaches were seen the first day there. We contacted the manager the second day when we saw another. The exterminator came on the third day. More cockroaches on the fifth day. The property manager was supposed to come at 3 to put down more poison but didn’t get there until almost 5. So we lost a lot of beach time. The house advertises to accommodate 7 people and beach gear. We got three beach towels and had to buy our own. They said they would reimburse us. But it never happened. The house advertises bikes. They had flat tires and were not in good condition. The manager asked us if it was ok for a window person to stop by to measure for new windows. We waited for them and they never showed. This was another waste of our vacation time. The back door was installed reversed so the moving slider door would be easy to remove if someone chose to break in. One bedroom door handle was installed backward so the lock was on the outside. The bathroom door stuck and couldn’t be shut all the way when the kids used it or they couldn’t get out. The manager felt they should compensate our stay but never did. Overall, it was overpriced for our experience.

Great location
We enjoyed the location and the inside of the home was clean. The area was quiet and we really enjoyed these about access to the beach and having a pool. The only things to work on would be the grass needed to be cut, renovate the deck and the gate to the pool was messed up. In all we enjoyed our stay and would come again.

Better than the pictures
We were pleasantly surprised to see Sunshine Daydream was better in person than pictures. The decor fit the beach/vacation atmosphere. We are simple people and don’t expect a Taj Mahal. Certainly a great bargain especially with a private pool. The kitchen was perfectly stocked with cookware and appliances. We had an issue with one if the tv’s and owner had a new tv delivered next day. The best part was our dog had a fenced in area to do his business. The dumb waiter came in handy with luggage and groceries. The front porch with hammock was so relaxing at any time of day. Plus the air conditioner rocked as the temps were very hot. Location is perfect too. Not too loud but close enough to beach and downtown. We would definitely rent Sunshine Daydream again!

great house for a beach getaway
The house was clean, spacious and well maintained. Beach is just a five minute walk away. Pool was surprising large, and the porch hammock was a big hit with everyone. A minor disappointment that none of the bicycles on site were in working order. We have been coming to SGI for several years and this was by far the nicest property we have stayed in. We would stay here again without hesitation.

Where do I begin
Amenities that are in the listing not available for use. Golf Cart stolen back around April, not communicated until after our arrival and 3 days of email, text, and calls. By this time all cart rentals were booked for the week. Host did state that they were dealing with a family emergency which I do understand. I can forgive a lot if I have some idea, just asking for some communication. Grass hadn't be cut in many weeks, part of renting this property is to accommodate our 9 year old Shih-Tzu. The grass in her area was a foot and a half tall. I found a fellow vacation goer and got it cut. Grass around the pool was almost as tall. I dont expect everything to be perfect, but there is a level of expectation when paying out several hundreds of dollars in fees. Day 4 of our stay I'm trying to get us some donuts and my wife calls and says a man is in the yard, I get out of line and head back to the house to find a plain cloths gentleman in an unmarked pickup walking around the front of the house. Again, zero heads up, no commication that he was coming. He was sent by the property manager/ owner to fix a leaking pipe buy the pool. I called the host and asked for a return call because I felt that enough was enough and the single email reply thus far wasn't cutting it. Day 5 so far and still no return call. Hope your stay is better than ours.

Overall we had a fine week at Sunshine Daydream. The pictures weren’t totally accurate. The house and grounds seemed to need more TLC than expected from photos, and there were little things that were a nuisance (ex: most of the tv remotes didn’t have working batteries, and it listed a hairdryer as an amenity but there wasn’t one, we wished there was a toaster), but we were there to be close to the beach and pool so we focused on that. Highlights were that our kids loved the pool, being a short walk to the beach, and beds were comfortable. Property manager was super responsive right at check in time, when the beach butler didn’t work, but then never responded again after my question about batteries a short time later. So I didn’t even bother asking about the hairdryer. All in all, it worked out fine.

Nothing inherently wrong with the property, it was just a lot more tired and in need of maintenance than the pictures revealed. I wouldn’t say it was a lot worse than surrounding properties, but not exactly what we were hoping for. Had pest issues at night, but the owner assured me that they get regular treatments 🤷‍♂️ It was a super plus to be able to bring our dog and the property was set up great for that!

Great place for a getaway
This place was bigger than we expected and was very comfortable. The screened in porch with rocking chairs and a hammock was a big hit. Temperatures got up into the 90s so the pool was a nice perk to have. Owner was very nice and responsive to our group. Will definitely return!

Disappointing propery
We just stayed at this property and after confirming multiple times of their COVID cleaning habits, we found the property dirty upon arrival. There was pet hair everywhere! We also confirmed with the owner prior to arrival that the pool area had a lock to get into as we have small girls and wanted a lock for safety. There was no lock!! One last note, having access to a golf cart was a big reason we booked this property, however it was stolen 2 weeks prior to our arrival. I realize that is out of the owners control however what isn’t out of her control is communicating this to us. She knew 2 weeks before our arrival date and neglected to tell us until after we had checked in. I would not recommend this house for your stay.

Florida paradise!
We had such a wonderful time! St George was the perfect place! We enjoyed the local shops and restaurants, but loved that it wasn’t touristy. The beach was perfect, we had huge waves a couple of the days which made it really fun! We enjoyed the pool as well when sick of the sand. The house was the perfect size and we were so happy the dog could be with us, thanks to the owners for allowing that. The house also had everything we needed! We definitely want to go back! ❤️
