The charming Island Dog Cottage is a delightful shabby chic retreat adorned with vibrant island colors and captivating local art. This unique cottage proudly earned its place in the prestigious 'Tybee Tour of Homes,' beautifully reflecting the authentic flavor of Tybee Island. Nestled beachside, this gem boasts a prime location without any streets to cross, granting easy access to the beach at Tenth Street within a 5-minute walk.

Step into the Cottage, and you'll be greeted by a spacious, shaded, and fenced yard, inviting you to relax and unwind. Embrace the coastal ambiance on the wrap-around screened porch or bask in the sun on the open front porch adorned with cheerful Adirondack chairs.

Ideal for large families and friend getaways, the cottage offers two levels with separate entrances, providing ample privacy. It's important to note that access between floors is exterior only, with no interior stairs.

The main level welcomes you with three bedrooms: king, queen, and twin bunk beds. Additionally, you'll find a second full bath, a cozy family room, a charming dining area, and a fully stocked kitchen, ensuring every culinary need is met.

Descending to the lower level, you'll discover two more bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other with one double bed and one twin bed. A convenient half bath and a bathroom/laundry room with a full-size washer and dryer are available. For added convenience and privacy, the outdoor shower offers hot and cold water and is enclosed in a secluded setting.

An expansive gathering area on the lower level provides ample seating and generous storage space, accommodating bicycles, kayaks, surfboards, and all your beloved beach gear.

The house was cute. An easy walk to the beach and IGA . Plenty of outdoor seating areas. We used the screened in porch upstairs the most. The outside shower was the best shower. Kids loved it. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, dishes and utensils. Very small “starter kit” from other places we stayed at. Kelly was very helpful with a few issues we had. Loved everything- the kitchen area is small so if you are a family that likes to cook this may be an issue for you

The house was amazing and fit our family perfectly. It was a short walk to the beach and IGA. The surrounding neighborhood was very nice and I chatted with one of the new neighbors there. I would highly recommend this property. The porches, downstairs, front and screened were all HUGE hits.

Island Dog Cottage
Downstairs was a little rough. Needed more than one dehumidifier as rooms were damp. Ended up relocating the family to the upstairs bedrooms due to dampness. Overall property was cute. It's cottage living. Beds pretty uncomfortable, but we survived :)

The only positive is good beach access. The pictures online must be a decade old. The property is very dingy and run down. The kitchen is tiny - almost unusable - with an ancient stove. Two of the bedrooms are on the ground floor with outside doors which is weird, with a weird bathroom setup, also with an outside door - this whole area is scary and smells gross - very musty. Almost all curtains are too small to cover the whole windows - no privacy. The AC broke in the middle of a very humid night - it was unbearable. Overall experience was YUCK - couldn't wait to leave.

Not a good choice
Very disappointing it was not very clean the air vents were absolutely filthy and I found it to be somewhat dangerous with just hook and eye locks on screen doors …and then the downstairs area you could not get from one of the bedrooms to the bathroom without going out of your bedroom and into the bathroom. but then you couldn’t lock the bathroom so whoever was in that bedroom couldn’t access it through the nite unless it was left unlocked. Anybody could’ve walked right through those screen doors. And through the bathroom to one of the bedrooms at night. I did not feel safe. The “yard” was uninhabitable. And for the money spent it was quite disappointing.

A Georgia Retreat

Just what we needed
The property was exactly what we expected. It was light and airy and super comfy. We had all the amenities we needed plus some. The outdoor shower and the daybed on the screened porch were both favorites with our group. Beach access was easy and the grocery store is just a short walk away.

The Most perfect home that I have experienced yet!
This house was perfect! being a dog lover, it had lots of dog warming pictures, cute sayings, etc. Fenced in yard made it convenient - short walk to the beach was awesome, and the room that the house had was perfect for my family of 10. This is probably my most favorite home that I have stayed at on Tybee and we have been coming here since 2007.

Perfect beach home
Our family of 10 stayed here and absolutely loved it. The proximity to the beach was amazing and the decks and porches were where we spent most of our time. Also, the outdoor shower was amazing. There were two flaws. First, the oven wasn’t working. Second, there were rodents in the walls. Overall, we’d stay here again.

Nice place and close to beach
A couple of hiccups here and there but the property management responded quickly and was able to handle asap. Our only hiccup was the AC stopped working as soon as we got there but the management got someone out promptly and fixed the issue. Other than that, beautiful place and close to beach and downtown area.

Annual high school girlfriends trip
Eight of us stayed at the property and the house was perfect for us. Plenty of space and very comfortable and the large screened porch was a huge plus. The beach was so close, which we loved, and there were plenty of beach chairs and towels for us to use. The outdoor shower was, also, a big hit. Property managers couldn't have been more accommodating. We had two small requests and the managers took care of them right away. In the future I would definitely stay again.

There was mouse poop all over one of the beds in the lower part of the house. It was also musky and members of our party with asthma couldn’t stay there. The house was very dusty. The kitchen was not well stocked as advertised. The water pressure was terrible. Bathroom doors didn’t close all of the way. Wagon has a broken wheel and cannot be used to transport chairs to the beach. I would like at least a partial refund since the house was not as advertised.

Perfect home to host 4 generations
We hosted 4 generations of family from all over the country at Island Dog Cottage for our grandson’s first birthday. There were 10 in our group with ages ranging from 1 to 77. The cottage accommodated everyone’s needs and there was plenty of room for us to spread out and not be on top of one another. The large beautiful screened in back porch was the perfect place to hang out and have our grandson’s birthday party. The spacious outdoor shower was definitely a hit! The decor is lovely, and the location is terrific! It’s so close to the beach and grocery. The only issue we had was some dampness in the lower bedrooms and bathroom. I called Denise. She was very warm and appreciative that I brought the issue to her attention. She offered to send someone right away to address it. If we visit Tybee again in the future we would definitely love to stay at Island Dog again!
