Bellevue Botanical Garden
In December, check out the Bellevue Botanical Garden's "Garden D'Lights" display. The entire garden lights up with millions of tiny lights bundled together in the shape of flowers and animals. Buy tickets in advance! Some nights are free, but it's nice to make a donation.
The zoo is a fun place for both kids and adults to learn about wildlife and conversation efforts. A variety of activities happen each day - a personal favorite of mine is the daily giraffe feeding where guests are able to feed the animals themselves.
The Sky View Observatory in Columbia Center offers some of the best views of the city. You can get a picture of Seattle with the Space Needle in it rather than from the needle! Grab a coffee on the 40th floor for free view if you can't get all the way to the top.
Alki Point Lighthouse guides the path to the south most entrance to Elliott Bay of Seattle. Visit the area during low tide and be sure to keep your eyes peeled for sea life in the tide pools. Sea stars galore!
