I was in San Francisco for a convention and was searching for a hotel near the Hilton. I'm so happy that I found the Hotel Beresford. It was very close to the convention and was near the bus stops and cable car. The hotel had a very old San Francisco feel to it, which I loved. I am a big fan of hotels with character and this one oozes it. It does have some wear and tear in the rooms. ( wallpaper peeling, broken soap dish), but that is expected with an older hotel.
Each morning the hotel provided a continental breakfast of cereal, muffins and croissants in the White Horse pub. The staff was also very helpful.
I was on the 7th floor which was quiet, but I can tell that if you were close to the street or the pub you would get a lot of noise.
My only complaint was that there is a cost for the airport shuttle but that isn't the hotels' fault.
