Too expensive for what you're getting in return

Pros: The big pillow on the bed was nice. The proximity to the airport was also nice.
Cons: The cost is too high for what you get. The cost for breakfast was outrageous. Also...$18 for an omelette?! No way!
Location: The area is scary and dirty. There is nothing to do nearby. $20 RT to go to the city on the AirTrain and subway.
The first thing that surprised me is that this hotel was $191+tax per night. But I thought, "It's a Hilton" and went with it. Then when I got to the hotel, I was really disappointed. The area was scary and dirty. When I was in the room, I did love the big pillow on my bed. It was great. I read through the hotel book, which made one issue confusing. The continental breakfast was listed and the price was crossed out with a black magic marker. So I didn't realize I would be charged $26 for two people for a couple of croissants and some fruit. When I spend $230 on a hotel room after taxes, I don't expect a continental breakfast to cost so much per person. I don't mind paying for it, but seriously! Also, I was very disappointed in hotel staff. We called because we could not figure out how to turn on the shower once the water was running. They told us WRONG twice. They finally had to send someone up to look at, and it took that person about 5 minutes to figure out where to turn on the shower portion of the tub. That's ridiculous.I also noticed that we supposedly had the lowest rate for the room for our one night, but that other people were paying much less than we were for the same room. This is not a $200 a night hotel room. The location puts you at a place where you have to pay $5 to get on the air train, then $5 round trip to get to the city, then $5 to get back on the air train. That's $20 to go to the city on top of your room rate. At least they have a shuttle to pick you up.

Everyone was incredibly nice - from housekeeping, to the receptionist, to the parking attendant to the waiters. Was able to keep my car at the hotel and take a shuttle to JFK instead of having to worry about airport parking. Highly recommend staying here.

Do not stay here. When we arrived we were told we had to pay $50 room deposit which we did but because staff forgot to put this on their computer when we checked out they wouldn't refund it. We have emailed manager and she has not responded. We feel we have been robbed and from Hilton chain is unacceptable we now have to spend time from our ongoing holiday getting in touch with head office

Every staff member I encountered at this hotel is great -- so friendly and helpful. I wasn't a huge fan of the adjustable bed, though I slept OK. And please note that contrary to Expedia's listing, there are NOT pay-per-view movies (or video game consoles, for that matter) in the rooms. That was the biggest disappointment. But I love that rooms have refrigerators and microwaves. I stay here about once a year for an overnight layover.

Nice hotel close to JFK

Free shuttle pick up from jfk and the shuttle dropped us off at our terminal upon departure. Clean and comfortable. A mini store for snacks and other amenities - razors, toothpaste, etc. Breakfast was awesome. $12 for buffet.

Pros: Proximity to the airport. Comfortable bed. Return shuttle to the airport was a good service.
Cons: The shuttle service from the airport. We waited over an hour for the shuttle before someone told us that it said Sheridan on it, not Hilton.
Location: Just went there to sleep between flights.
This is an o k place to stay when you are flying in and out of JFK. It is clean and safe.

I would not stay at this Hilton Garden Inn again. The bed and pillows were hard and uncomfortable. The Blancket had a cigarrett burn in it. The carpet was filthy and smelly. The towels had holes in them and were thin. The room itself was cramped.

Plane noise unbearable

Pros: shuttle service (though supplied in a Sheraton bus ?? Great driver !!

Arrived at the Hotel around 9pm after a long light from Australia. I have previously stayed at multiple Hilton locations around the world. The room was on the 5th floor and the flights came very 10 mins and they felt like they were only meters away- so no sleep. Decided enough was enough so when down to reception during the night to ask if they are power converter to lend or buy as I left mine at home. They told me they don't stock any. verydisappointing and I will tell friends to steer clear of this hotel
