this hotel was Horrific

Pros: Nothing! Outdated and dirty. Air conditioners don't work, key cards don't work in the doors, toilets don't flush well and refrigerator did not work.
Cons: Demo the building and build a Days Inn and don't rehire the staff that worked at the LA Quinta Inn.
hotel staff and management took it upon themselves to relocate all my personal items and clothing into a different room without my consent or knowledge. our original room had an air conditioner that was not working, at 1 a.m. a staff member moved us to a different room saying that this room had 2 queen beds instead of the 1 king bed that we originally wanted. He also said that we could change the room if we were not satisfied in the morning. This did not bother us. The next day we left the hotel at 8 am returning at 10:30 pm to find that our room is occupied by another couple, and we only found this out because we were trying to get into the room and they opened the door. Hotel staff said that it is protocol to relocate guest and that they told us that they were going to do this. What!? Had I known that they were moving us to a different room I would have packed my own belonging and gone to the front desk that morning for my new room. Needless to say management was not helpful and sided with his staff saying that they had the right to enter our room and remove our things. I highly recommend you choose another hotel chain for your vacation.

Good Hotel

Pros: I appreciated the breakfast included, it help to begin the day directly without think in this and save money.
Near to 33 and 40 St Station, It was very useful to go to Manhattan (20 minutes). In general (4 people one room) We passed a good time.

Could have been worse.

Pros: The girls cleaning the rooms were very helpful and the bedding and bathrooms were clean.
Cons: Attitude about paying customers. It does not matter if you stay one or ten days, you are just a customer.
Location: This is on a busy street and the subway is across the street.
The rooms were OK. I expected a three star place. It is on a busy street across from the subway. We booked a week package through Expedia. We had a 10x12 room for 7 days. My brother, a single, had a 10x20 room for 5 of those days. The house staff was great, and the front desk guys were very helpful. We had parking, which was our main concern for New York City. The breakfast was mostly carbohydrates. Mid week the bagels, donuts, sweet rolls turned to bread. The eggs were precooked substances, and over cooked sausage. The close Pete's grill was our safety net and McDonalds was next door. Over all ,the hotel was 3 star, and could have been worse.

my room was clean but didn't rate excellent because: card reader at my room door was tricky to make it work and I had to call front desk to ask for instructions on how to make the shower work (tricky too) a little card with instructions in the bathroom could've help

Great stay, very accommodating staff! Room was very clean and comfortable! Highly recommend. 2 min away subway stop that takes you right to grand central or Times Square in about 10-15 mins. Super easy and convenient!!!!!!

Good price, decent hotel near NYC

Pros: Staff and price were good. Location was great.
Cons: Absolutely every hook, knob, handle, fixture etc... in the room was loose and/or falling off. Tighten that stuff up!
We needed to stay in, or close to, Manhattan for a construction job. This hotel was an easy commute on the 7 train and is located close to the Northern Blvd Home Depot which made it easy to get supplies.

windows don't open- I was told one price, and after waiting 30 minutes for a room to be cleaned, they went back on the price. Rude staff. Unprofessional.

Affordable Stay

Pros: I liked the price I payed and the location the most. The free parking was also a plus. I definitely liked and took advantage of it.
Cons: My room seemed to need a new paint job on the ceiling of the bathroom and maybe a better coffee selection. (The coffee provided is terrible.)
Location: Actually I found this hotel to be located perfectly in between places to eat, shops, and the subway. Only about a 30 minute ride to Manhattan.
I thought that for what I payed, considering I was in New York, my experience at the hotel was not bad at all. The rooms were pretty clean and my stuff didn't go missing so that was definitely a plus. The continental breakfast could of have been better but it was decent.

Overall hotel was okay. It provides necessary needs. The bed was comfortable. Free internet which was good. Plenty of restaurant selections nearby. Subway was quite a distance from hotel.

Definitely not a 5 star...

Pros: Convenient location near the 7 train. Safe neighborhood. Room was clean.
Cons: Most things. Get keys that work more than 50% of the time.
Location: There is a McDonald's and a nice diner a couple blocks away.
Although still very expensive, this hotel appeared to be the best deal for the price. Although the hotel stay was overall okay, there were many problems during our stay. The check-in staff were not very friendly and did not smile. For the first room we were given, none of the four keys we were given worked. In addition, the third floor hallway smelled strongly of smoke and we could hear in the room next to ours a loud baby screaming and a loud mother. We asked to be switched to another room on a different floor. The only other room available faced Queens Blvd (the main street), but luckily with the fan on, it wasn't too noisy. The room itself was nice and clean, but the bed was not the plushest and the towels were definitely not the softest. With some creativity, there was barely enough room for our four suitcases. Luckily we were not sleeping in, as the curtains do not fully close so a good amount of light gets into the room in the morning. No one in my family could figure out how to put the shower spout on and we had to ask the front desk. Even then, we couldn't get the hot water to work properly. The food at breakfast in the morning was adequate with some kind of egg patty, cereal, fruit, donuts, and croissants. However, at prime breakfast time around 8 AM, we (and several other guests) had to eat our entire breakfast standing up because there was about half as much as seating as there needed to be. The breakfast attendant was quick to refill the food as it emptied.
