Pros: Fairly close to the train station and room service was great. Temperature control of the room was also available with heater/AC making.
Cons: Comforter was thin and wifi was very slow at times.
Location: 30-45 minute train ride to Manhattan. Roughly a 20 minute train ride to shopping centers (Queens Mall, Rego Park)

OK hotel, but area is not greatPosted Nov 28, 2013
Pros: Good price. Hotel room was nice enough, though the bed was too soft for my tastes.
Cons: Breakfast. Lobby needs to be updated. Feels very shabby.
Location: LaGuardia is not far.
We selected this hotel because it was relatively close to the family member we were visiting. When we told her where we were staying, she said, "That's not a great neighborhood." We didn't feel tthat unsafe, but I wouldn't have taken a walk at night around there. The breakfast was awful. Fake powdered eggs. But the coffee was good, and the price was right.

Sleepless in QueensPosted Nov 27, 2013
Cons: The elevator should be fixed ASAP!!!
Location: Proximity to Jamaica avenue. My only reason for staying there.
I arrived at the hotel around 11:00pm. No parking! In fact, there is parking for about 7/8 cars. I parked on the street. No incidents. The check in was average but my room was something more. The room was not properly cleaned. I travel a lot and stay at all kinds of hotels from 5 stars to 2 stars, I know what to expect but this was too much. The pillows were dirty and there was left over garbage from a previous stay in the drawers. The worst however, was the noise. I thought that there was a garbage dump somewhere behind the building because all night I kept hearing the sound of a garbage truck unloading. I could hardly sleep (10th floor). In the morning when the sun hit me, I got up to pull the shades in order to rest an hour or so (since I hardly got any sleep the night before) the shades could not be drawn. I suffered even more (the sun was coming up on my side of the building). On leaving, I realized that the crazy garbage truck sound I was hearing all night was actually the elevator. I told the front desk person about my experience. It was like talking to the wind.

Ok hotel, not greatestPosted Nov 23, 2013
Pros: good value, 5 min walk from subway
Cons: room smell
Location: avoid the neighborhood !
Room looked clean, but it was smelly when I walked in, neighborhood is shady. Good enough for quick one night crash, not recommended beyond that.

Hotel On Hillside Avenue, QueensPosted Nov 14, 2013
Cons: On property parking is limited and on a "first come" basis. This means parking on the street may be required. It is three short blocks to a subway
Location: There are no sights or attractions within walking distance although there is shopping on Jamaica Ave a few blocks away. It is an urban environment.
We were visiting for a funeral across the street and this hotel was very convenient. It is an urban neighborhood and is not inviting for walking around after dark but the hotel is recently built, straight forward, and safe. We had four in the small room which was tight but it would have been comfortable for two. It is convenient to public transportation but the on-property free parking is very limited. The price we paid was very reasonable and if the we have occasion to be there again we would chose this hotel again. There is a simple continental breakfast offered in a small alcove off the lobby. This is a no frills hotel but offered good value.

Unclean, noisy, confusionPosted Nov 11, 2013
There was a mixup at the front desk eventhough I called twice to confirm I would pay when I got there. The rooms were booked for a stayover for a my friend's wedding the next day. So the entire bridal party stayed there because it was close to the venue. When we got the room the bathroom was obviously not clean and there was not enough towels in the bathroom for 3 people and no bath mats. We had to clean up, use towels as mats and ask for more towels. The carpet in the room either needed cleaning or replacing I wore my shoes in the room because I was afraid of the floor (I've never done that at a hotel before). The room was located over a busy street on the 4th floor so it was very noisy even when the windows were closed. I had specifically told the clerk that we were staying for a wedding the next day so he should give us a good room. He smerked and said nothing. That night I got very little sleep and had to prep for the wedding the next day. They had no care and I felt it was all about the money & getting paid. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone I care about.
