Beautiful Hotel.

We found this hotel to be exceptional. The staff was very helpful. Our room was exactly what we requested. The breakfast/brunch buffet is excellent. Parking can be expensive as in all major cities but packages that include parking are available.

Nice, but...

The hotel overall is very nice, however, for the money, I was expecting a much nicer room. The rooms are your classic cookie cutter hotel rooms, the same as a Best Western, with nicer sheets. Hotel bar closed at 11pm on a busy Saturday night.

Traveler's tip on dining

Have dinner across the street at Flemings.

One of the nicest hotels in Downtown Baltimore

The hotel was very nice and extremely convenient to the major sites in downtown Baltimore. There was someone else’s completed room service tray outside our door when we checked in late in the afternoon and stayed there until morning. Nice view if you overlook the harbor. Elevators were extremely fast which is nice for the upper floors. Breakfast/Brunch buffet is excellent but more variety would be nice.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Quick walk to the inner harbor and all the sights to see.

Don’t waste your money...

I really felt that my stay at this hotel wasn’t worth paying what I did. The only good thing about it was the pillows and the view. The parking sucked and cost $21. The lobby people were rude and I would never return. If there was a way to get my money back I would.

High Quality Hotel.

Our experience at this hotel was first rate and I would recommend it to anyone looking to stay in the harbor area of Baltimore. There are many attractions and restaurants near the hotel. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

We went to Baltimore just to go to a Baltimore Orioles baseball game at Camden Yards. On a map it appeared that the hotel was close to the stadium but it was actually a long walk. If going to a baseball game was the only reason I was going to Baltimore, I would probably stay at one of the hotels closer to the stadium.

Fabulous location and amenities!

My husband and my boys drove up from Richmond on a Saturday afternoon to meet some friends for an Orioles/Yankees game. We booked this hotel last minute so just about every other hotel was booked. We were a little hesitant of the price, but it turned out to be money well spent. Beautiful lobby, gracious staff (even thought they were extremely busy), great views, and the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in! It’s a little of a hike to the ball park, but that turns out to be a bonus because it’s located in a less crowded area. We are already planning to go back in the fall for a Ravens game.

Traveler's tip on dining

James Joyce Pub is a great place to take the family before or after the game...kid friendly fare, reasonable prices, and fun atmosphere.

poor HVAC and thin walls - good view

The thermostat had almost no effect in controling the comfort of the room. the family next door was so loud that it was like there wasn’t a wall dividing the rooms. Security reacted lacidazically when called. I’ve had some enjoyable stays at this hotel but this was not one of them

Make Sure You Get What You Pay For

I reserved and paid for the higher-end water view room with a king-sized bed. Instead, we were given a non-view double bed room. After two phone calls to the front desk and being told that none of the room type that we paid for was available, we had to go back down to the front desk and demand the correct room. Miraculously, the correct room was then made available to us. The room was great - terrific harbor view and a real comfy bed. Located very close to great restaurants and walking distance the aquarium. I would go back.

Relaxation

The view was very nice and the bed was pretty comfortable. I’ve had other bed’s that were more comfortable but I heard they were upgrading. The pics on the computer of the rooms did not match ours - no flatscreen tv, we had an old one which was a little disappointing. The TV service could have had some free movies - the prices for the movies were ridiculous!

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Irish Pub - James Joyce right on the corner beside the hotel has great bar food and drinks.

Over Priced

Hotel is very over priced and charge a lot for breakfast. This hotel is in Baltimore not New York and the price needs to reflect Baltimore.

Small sink area

The room was nice, but the bathroom was small. The vanity was so short (4 foot) we had no room to place our toiletries, nor were there any other shelves. The shower also had no shelves and water splashed under the curtain and there was no bath mat, except for good towels, to soak up the wet and slippery floor. The drain was on the shower side of room, and water accumulated on the other side.

Traveler's tip

We used Billy’s Blue taxi to go to BSO. Most taxis now have GPS. He used an open phone for directions with someone. He kept going around a block, one street short of the correct address, four times, then charged us $17. Return was $8. Concierge told us to call them at hotel in future. I even showed him a map the concierge made for us, but he was still confused and lost.

Will return and stay in the same hotel.

After having stayed in Marriott Hotels in the U.S., London, Prague, I am veru glad I selected the Marriott on the Waterfront in Baltimore. There is a consistency in great service from the reception to housekeeping to dining. The facilities are always inviting. The staff is great and very friendly and very helpful.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Great food. Softshell crabs are the best.

Baltimore’s Best!

We had a wonderful time at this hotel. The staff, from bellman to concierge to front desk, were some of the best we have experienced. The room was clean and comfortable, the views from the upper floors were amazing (definitely request a high floor).

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Easy 10 minute walk to the Inner Harbor and surrounded by many restaurants.

Great Hotel on the water front

I recently stayed at the Marriot Water Front Hotel with my wife and 5 year old son. It was a very pleasant experience. The staff was great! On the weekends they have a wonderful buffet that they set up in the sitting room. The chef enthralled my little boy with imitations of Donald Duck. He went out of his way to go back in the kitchen and get a cookie for my son as a suprize after breakfast and then found our table to give the cookie to my son. The rooms are decorated in typical Marriott fashion, the bathroom had granite counter tops. We had an incredible view of the city and Inner Harbor from our room on the 18th floor. The lobby area was incredible, it was nicely decorated. The food at the Grille 700 restaurant was very good as well.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

If you are staying in Baltimore and intrested in doing things around the Inner Harbor I stongly reccomend purchasing the Harbor Pass from the visitors center located in the Inner Harbor. It cost $49 for adults and $35 for children. This pass prevents you from having to wait in lines and includes admission for a number of attractions. For more info go to www.Baltimore.org
