"Lovely stay at the hotel. Great service. Beautiful hotel. Great breakfast. Nice and close to all the shops and things to do. Downside - pillows really uncomfortable. We were in room 231 which was on the back and you did get noise from the tanoy but nothing terrible. "

"Lovely hotel, the staff are amazing, a credit to the hotel chain, you feel welcomed immediately as guests. Beautiful inside and out lovely and clean by amazing housekeeping staff. The only thing I'd change, is the food menu and some dining recccomendations for guests. In the bar area, to do laid back dining like scampi and normal chips, (not skin on) not everyone likes these and thats all that's available. The bar menu, is still too 4 star the menu, if you want a more laid back eating...

"The hotel is well located and it's nice and modern. The hotel staff I find lacked a bit of smiles whether it be at reception or the bar. Not a fan of separate bathrooms in them room but that's many French brand hotels. "

"The hotel and its annex are undergoing some spiffing up (work in progress) but our rooms were fine. The bar by the lobby is a bar in name only (also work in progress?) - OK if all you want is a bottle of cider."

"Enjoyed our stay until breakfast. It clearly stated in the information in our room that breakfast is served till 10am. We went for breakfast at 9.30 but everything was being cleared away. We did have a full breakfast but felt under pressure to finish quickly. Such a shame to end a lovely stay on a low note. "

"Overall a good stay but wouldn’t consider it boutique. Few marks and stains on the carpets ,curtains ill fitting. Appreciate the history and age of the building but it’s in need of a few domestic repairs. Unable to reduce the temperature of the water in the shower and was far too hot. After a while there was no water at all available. Breakfast was good . "
