People were amazing

Quaint New England inn. Great breakfasts. Close to snow skiing. Very clean rooms. Refrigerator full size, microwave, snacks available in hall. Owners pay great attention to detail.

First the staff are so nice and friendly. Very welcoming. Room was comfortable and clean. Shower was amazing with plenty of hot water. Quiet, no road noise or traffic. Beautiful scenery. Will definitely stay there again.

The hosts were amazing, and very accommodating to our schedule needs. The rooms provided the perfect blend of historic atmosphere and modern convenience, and Matthew gave us a real feeling of the history of the place with his vast knowledge of the inn and its famous visitors. A perfect base from which to enjoy the beautiful and historic surrounding area.

Huge comfortable suits, great for families. Loft has two bedrooms and two bathrooms, plus living room, dining room, and full kitchen. Also gas fireplaces (though may not be running) which creates a warm, inviting atmosphere. Pool, hot tub, and sauna were in great condition. Highly recommend.

The owners are so kind, friendly, and thoughtful! I stayed here the night before the eclipse, and because they knew people wanted to leave early the next day to beat the eclipse traffic, they moved up the start of breakfast (poached eggs and bacon hash, yum!) an hour. The hotel is beautiful and has wonderful views of the surroundings, including the lake, from windows. There is a nice loop around the lake that can be done, and hiking trails nearby. On a Foliage tour through New England in October, my wife and I stayed at The Monadnock Inn following a hike of the nearby Mt. Monadnock. Arrival mid-week was simple and the Inn is full of centuries-old charm and comfort. Check-in was very simple and we were handed a key and walked up the stairs to the 3rd Floor Pauline Room.
