very shabbyPosted Jan 15, 2014
Pros: in town centre
Cons: room needed cleaned properly and kettle needed replaced. Breakfast buffet should be fresh and attention paid to presentation
double room ok for size but furniture damaged surfaces waterdamaged and veneer chipped off on bedside tables.Bathroom had a tiny bath with a stepped seat which looked like a disabled bath. Window frame rotted and dirty. Bar meal passable, just. very dissapointing overall.Breakfast buffet not great , cold meats dried out and stale looking . croissants hard and stale.

Dont' stay here!!! Unless you enjoy disco and smogPosted Oct 8, 2010 on Hotels
This old and rather delapidated hotel did NOT live up to our expectations at all. The hotel fails to mention that its main source of income is its LOUD DISCOTEQUE that continues pumping out heavy bass and raucous noise until past 1 in the morning. We didn't sleep that night. The staff at reception ignored us while pondering a computer screen for over 5 minutes, then to be told we were ½ an hour early and would have to come back later. The non-smoking policy is flaunted and consequently we were breathing second hand smoke all night. The tap didn't work and the toilet flushed with the same effect as a light rain fall. In short: STAY AWAY !!! This is the hotel from Hell. Even Basil Fawlty counldn't make it worse.

Excellent hotel - perfect check-in, lovely room with harbour views and lots of space - ideal when trying to repack after a week elsewhere. The service at breakfast was slow but the views made up for it.
