The Houghton Inn is a gem. The friendliness of the staff and peace you feel makes it stand out.

We were greeted by the Manager. He was welcoming and made us feel right at home! This property is a small, clean little hotel. The king sized bed was very comfortable! The room contained a microwave and a fridge! If you are looking for a reasonable and relaxing place to stay...this is the place!

Beautiful property and location. Geese, ducks and swans are everywhere upon arrival. The desk staff (Carolyn ) and manager (Barb) were more than welcoming. Glimpses of zebra as you enter the parking area. The room is adjacent to the gift shop and restaurant. There are people everywhere during park hours. Safari disembarksation just outside your door !Otherwise the room is clean and comfortable. Of mention, there's no window at ALL in the room. There's nowhere to sit except the bed.

Being winter, it was very quiet, but that is what we wanted. It was easy to drive to the parking lot as it was clear of ice and snow. The room was very comfortable and pleasant. Sleeping was very easy to do. We loved being so close to the church and the downtown stores and restaurants.

We were greeted by the goats, kitties, and dogs each morning and evening when we sat out on the patio. The kitties even curled up in our laps and fell asleep. It was hard not to take them all home with us. The guesthouse was absolutely gorgeous with cozy decor and every detail thoughtfully considered. We loved relaxing on the patio and taking in the amazing views. It was the perfect place to...

Breakfast was outstanding

It was very peaceful and relaxing.

Beautiful hotel located in a fantastic village. Staff was friendly and helpful

Like other reviewers mention, it’s an older property. That being said, my room was clean and staff was super kind and accommodating. Property was quiet. Was in the area for a concert and was only there to sleep so it worked great!
