"My husband and I stayed at the hotel from Sunday to Tuesday. We walked in and were pleasantly surprised how nice it looks inside! Recently renovated and it shows. Our room was a double queen. We ended up in a handicap room, but didn't request one. It had a lot of room. The bathroom was huge and beautifully decorated! [Note: no where to hang towel for shower or hands.] Overall, a nice, clean room. Everything had soft-close features: wardrobe, dresser drawers, and toilet seat...a nice feature. Bathroom mirror was lighted with a dimmer so I kept that on as the nightlight. The casino had two gambling rooms. The Superior was the "fun" room with the better bar, more slots, and table games. Overall, had a better vibe. The drinks were so affordable! But...the drinks were weak and made with bottom shelf liquor. And the bartenders were not great; not too personable and even though we were usually one of the few couples sitting there, it was difficult to get a 2nd or 3rd drink. The front of the bar could use a foot rail too to be more comfortable, IMO. We were disappointed the only "cocktail lounge" wasn't open when we were there. No live performers...they could at least have a singer. So, if we return, we'd try to come on a Friday or Saturday. I do wish they had a later or 24hr food source. The one food place closed at 11p. Overall, we had an enjoyable time. It was clean, updated, and just what we were looking for. And, luckily, I won pretty good on the slots the last day 😉."

"This was an unexpected gem. The main building was built as a TB sanitarium in 1812 and has been beautifully updated with period charm. Sitting on the property is a mid-century motel also updated with period correct touches. It did not go unnoticed that whomever decorated paid close attention to detail. We were greeted by a lovely gentleman, Jack, a border collie, who walked us to the check in door. We were then greeted by a friendly person who told us about the history of the place, recommendations for places to eat in town, the continental breakfast in the morning, and happy hour at the bar. We were pleasantly surprised that there was a prohibition era speakeasy onsite with an incredible craft cocktail list and a great selection of Michigan craft beer on tap. We will definitely be back next year and will tell all that listen to visit."

"We recently stayed for six wonderful days at this property. The house was amazing! The hosts were very promt in replying to inquires and the property showed that they care about the renters' experience. The hosts obviously take pride in their property. The house was spotlessly clean and there was tons of parking space. The property is not on the Lake Superior shore and therefore there is some question as to who owns the beach. There is a public access a very short walk from the house but we were told by the owner of a beachfront residence that it was not a public beach and that we could not sit on their sand. He told us to go further down the beach where there is a spit of sand jutting into the lake. I don't know the law on this so we just moved to the spit and had a great time on a beautiful beach. We would definately go back."

"If you are looking for a real cabin experience this is for you! The main Cabin Wigwam had plenty of room for all my grandchildren to sleep with nice open space. The Rainbow and Papoose cabins so nice! The kitchen was well stocked for my cooking needs and was so happy to have provided paper plates and utensils. The highlight was the beautiful property! Surrounded with woods with pathways to the lake. So much fun swimming in the lake. Beautiful beach for long walks and bonfires. This is a trip my family will remembered forever. Thanks for sharing your amazing home. Lisa Smith"
