I did have a couple of issues with the hot water during my stay, but management dealt with them swiftly and effectively. What really makes the place stand out, though, is the staff. “Historic hotel with lots of character, but also filled with modern comforts and amenities. Staff were welcoming and friendly, room was nicely decorated, cosy, warm and comfortable. Breakfast and dinner menus in the rooms, along with a selection of drinks, and a whole book full of the hotel's history and other useful info. All toiletries provided too. Large bar area and restaurant serving food and beers from the local Hall and Woodhouse brewery. Room prices were really reasonable considering……
