I have stayed at many Fairmonts. This one was a disappointment. The room was very tired and lacking chargers for both guests on the nightstand. Only one side of the bed had accommodations. Not even a digital clock that you could see at night but an old style face clock which is not useful. The staff was very friendly but I will not stay here the next time I visit Chicago.

The hotel was very underwhelming. I paid about 3 times what I have paid for other hotel rooms around the country and usually I don't go for luxury, just convenience, but this time, I thought I would splurge for my birthday and get something nice. When we arrived, I thought the place looked very nice, and there was a gentleman named Benjamin outside that was very friendly. When we went in to check in, I was told there would be almost $400 to pre-pay for the 3 nights I would be there in case I used their amenities. I also asked if there was a refrigerator and microwave in the room since it stated during the reservation that we just needed to let them know of we wanted them. The person checking is in said they would bring them right up. I thought the pre-pay fee was a bit excessive, but once we got upstairs, it was a very plain hotel room like any other cheap one I've stayed at. The only difference is that it had a wine bar and a refrigerator that had sodas and water in it and a little tray with small boxes of candy, cookies, and nuts. I thought it was all really cute, but scanned a QR code to see how much everything was and drinks range from $6 to $35 per drink and the snacks ranges from $8 to $16. We decided to not use anything from the room since it was not worth it. We didn't get the refrigerator or microwave until we called again the second day. I'm running out of space for the review, but not worth the price at all. Looks pretty on the outside though.

I like the brand and have high expectations of this property. Stayed in their Vancouver and Quebec hotels which were great yet here it’s kind of dilapidated needing a lot of work, noisy, their room cleaning personnel keeps on knocking on the door despite being told we’re here and most of all they overcharged me with their resort fee. Expedia says it’s $102.47 CAD that I solid pay but my credit card alert said they charged me $123.19 CAD!!! I understand the exchange rate nuances yet a difference of $20??? That’s probably small amount but the principle there is I’m being ripped off.’Pathetic and disgusting

The staff were all great! Especially the cleaners and the guy in the breakfast bar. We were just given rooms that had not been updated yet, and you could really see the wear and tear. We were not invited to use the swanky lounge - which felt a bit unfair since I'd booked a "Deluxe King" room. The restaurant was closed and a new cool looking one was being promoted, but it seemed a while off. I reported my feedback to the Front Desk on the last day. I especially emphasized that one of my windows on the 19th floor had no safety limiter on it and no screen, so a child or suicidal adult could easily fall/jump out. The woman said she would send up maintenance to fix it right away, but when I returned a few hours later, it was still broken.

Fairmont Millenium Park does exactly what it says on the tin; albeit an empty tin with a fancy exterior. Rooms are very much old American corporate style, prices are hyper-inflated based on the brand, and there is an absurd $25/ night ‘urban exploration tax state fee’ charged on check-out for literally being present in their hotel. Location is good for exploring Chicago, otherwise, a very forgettable hotel.
