“A very cute place to stay in a lovely market town.
Parking nearby (free on Sundays and overnight).
Access to the rooms, due to the nature of the historic building, is not the easiest (uneven floors, narrow corridors and stairs). The room was absolutely lovely though; the bed was comfortable with quality bedlinen and pillows.
The breakfast buffet was welcome - a small table and chair would have been welcome.
A bedside light would have been welcome too.

“It was short walk from the train station and like 50 minutes from London. The restaurant in the hotel is pretty good and the bus to colchester city center is pretty good.
The hotel was clean and check out was pretty easy as well.”
“No checking in service at all. No prior instructions were given. We were helped into our apartment by the lady who owns the jewellers downstairs. We were woken at 6.45am on a Sunday to the sound of scaffolders and a traffic management company setting up to commence install scaffolding at 7am on the building we are in with no prior communication from the host this would be happening otherwise I wouldn't have booked there. By 8am there was a workman outside my first floor bedroom window so I had……
“Stayed here several times before and always really pleased with the quality and attention to detail. Sadly this stay fell way short!
For the price paid for room only I would expect more! Poor lighting, no full length mirror and blind that were broken!
Would take a lot to make me return!”
