Great hotel !

Posted Sep 20, 2017
I stayed at the Ramada Denver downtown for one week while visiting colorado. The staff was great and the hotel was very nice. My only complaint is the hotel is located on a main road that was a little rougher of an area than I had expected. It was close to downtown and to lots of restaurants. There is a little coffee shop right across the street with great drinks and really good food!

Nice beds, dated hotel

Posted Sep 18, 2017
The hotel is older and a bit dated. The beds were very comfortable. Everything was clean, just old. The staff was friendly.

Do not stay here

Posted Sep 18, 2017
Pros: Honestly, there wasn't much to like at all. The front desk staff were friendly - that's about it.
Cons: I can't believe this hotel is allowed to stay open and passes inspections. Look elsewhere.
Location: There is a great Irish pub across the street and some local restaurants on Colfax. That's about it.
I strongly advise against staying at this hotel. Unfortunately, it was one of the only ones left when my colleague and I traveled to Denver for a conference. The room was in very poor condition even though the hotel had signs stating a major renovation was being completed in early 2017. My colleague's room has electrical issues that caused any devices she had to heat up including the blow dryer that was plugged in. Her blow dryer didn't actually even work. She had to use mine. The carpet in my room was torn up and frayed in the closet. The walls were heavily marked up and generally filthy. I should have read other reviews because people have reported bed bugs here. Sheets and towels smelled cleaned but were stained all over. The bed was so heavily used that it sat on the bed bowed aka not very comfortable at all and the room had a heavy perfumed smell. It was almost as if they sprayed chemicals every time they cleaned it or between guests. I strongly recommend reading other reviews before booking this hotel. I will never stay here or at another Ramada again. Other's have reported this hotel being in a bad part of town but just because you see a couple homeless individuals doesn't mean its unsafe. I felt fine walking at night and during the day around the area.

Disappointed

Posted Sep 18, 2017
Overall, not very pleased. Website suggests that the hotel is within walking distance to downtown-that's true, assuming you want to walk an hour each way. The hotel has a shuttle supposedly available for drop off and pickup at a few locations, but good luck actually scheduling it-next to impossible. Room was ok, definitely had a smell of mildew and carpet was slightly damp. There were also crumbs in the bed which we didn't discover until our last night which was thoroughly disgusting. Elevator was broken and it got pretty old walking up to the third floor every time we needed to go back to the room. Room key only worked half the time as well. Breakfast consisted of cereal and a questionable bucket of hard-boiled eggs. Learned my lesson, won't be going back. Hotel is also in a pretty seedy part of town; watched multiple drug deals right across the street and got hit up for money every single time we left the hotel.

Very very nice lady at the front desk at check-in! Super sweet, and helpful. The room and the location was overall a big disappointment. The hotel is very old and walls are peeling. Would not recommend.

Renovated? Not quite!

Posted Sep 15, 2017
Cons: Implode and start over...Pool was filled with leaves on the deep end...
Location: Restaurants, store nearby...not the greatest area of Denver...
Though the staff was very nice and professional, this hotel which said they were supposed to be done with their renovation early 2017, I don't believe had even started, at least I hope not...the room was dingy, dark, something out of another dimension...bathroom had been worked over several times to try and fix stuff, yellow toilet, etc...The AC worked very nice, that was a plus... They had a shuttle going every hour but if you weren't on the list then they wouldn't take you, one male manager immediately said no and made no exceptions, just turned and walked away...I only was staying for one night and of course the main elevator went down... I'm amazed that this hotel was as busy as they say...Come on Ramada your better than this...

Bad Experience

Posted Sep 14, 2017
We checked in around 7 P.M. The clerk assigned one room number then crossed it out saying the room had already been assigned. She sent us to our new room, 30 minutes later another couple tried to enter the room with their key card, also the same room number.. We had a lot of trouble with our key card. The next day around 3 P.M. we tried our room key and couldn't get in. We asked the maid for help and she finally got our key to work. Next thing we know is the manager, Scott coming to our room all upset with the maid and with us because Management did not know who was assigned to our room. They locked us out and acted accusatory. We told Scott that our experience at Ramada had been bad. We came to the this hotel because we wanted to use the pool. The manager said they close the pool after the holiday, nothing was mentioned about that when we made the reservation. The key cards don't work, the front desk clerks need more training, a hotel should never send a guest to an occupied room. Scott got us the correct key card and straightened out their computer. All in all, not a good experience.

Not a great part of town to stay in.

Find somewhere else to stay unless your LGBT or enjoy seedy areas.

Hotel Room falling apart

Posted Sep 13, 2017
There wasn't one wall in the hotel room that had cosmetic damage. From the floor all the way up the ceiling. It definitely didn't feel "safe" but I've been in worse. The hallways smell like marijuana but what do you expect, it is in Colorado.
