All other accommodations on our 2 week vacation were excellent. We chose this one for final night before flying out. Issues: Third floor no elevator. Room was old and dirty. Looked like a cheap university dorm. Broken and worn throughout. We went for dinner which was worst meal we've perhaps ever had. We left after a few bites. The only redeeming quality was the staff who were very nice. We tipped them of course. Not their fault the facilities are awful. And there was a shuttle early to the airport. That gent was nice and we tipped him also. There is no way we will ever stay in that awful hotel ever again. Terrible experience! Great food at the restaurant. We had the Tico Roll, hamburger, Hawaiian pizza cooked in a wood fire oven and a chicken wrap. All were splendid. Excellent choices at the breakfast buffet. Lovely maintained pool with a bar that had a happy hour. The only drawback was the steep walk to our room, to the beach or to get to the main road which was a km away. It didn't bother us but if you don't like a challenge grab a can. Rides in a golf cart we're provided if needed. Beach was excellent but wear swim shoes because of the lovely lava rock. Plenty of restaurants within the km. The staff was extremely friendly. So happy with our choice."
