"my single room was comfortable , clean and a trifle small. The staff were helpful and efficient. Was very satisfied by the standard overall. it was unfortunate that one of the main lifts was not working so reaching the higher floors could be slow. "

"The biggest issue we had was the cost of the room and the actual worth of said room. We had room 1414, was supposed to be panoramic views of the city. Instead, we got to look into the adjacent building and all the apartments or rooms that people occupied. there was a major privacy concern, and we kept the blinds closed most of the time. Mainly because we knew if we could see them naked then they could definitely see us. aside from this the cleaning was sometimes good sometimes bad, very inconsistent. the balcony wasn't truly a balcony had 3 walls on it and sat back so no view at all but that giant white building. An, our two rooms had large floor to ceiling windows that looked into one another, so felt more like redlight district than anything else... at a cost well over 3k US dollars id stay somewhere else or don't pay for the 2 room panoramic views of 1414"

"Room was fine, Concierge was good Staff at breakfast were rude. They were not helpful, the selection was poor, I asked for veggie sausages, no response. Please improve staff and breakfast "

"13th Floor Executive suite was compact but comfortable with an interesting view over Waterloo Railway Station and the cityscape beyond. Comfortable bed. Worth mentioning that slipper and dressing gowns are available, but on request. "

"The Fraser Suites were amazing! The best location in Edinburgh! We absolutely loved our stay here. The rooms were impeccably clean and gorgeous! The high ceilings and tall windows made the room feel so spacious. The view from our room was amazing. It was super quiet at night, we never heard neighbors or street sounds. The bed was very comfortable as well. The sheets were high quality and soft. We loved the convenience of a mini fridge and microwave. It was also wonderful that they gave us little shortbread cookies every day in our coffee area, it was a lovely touch. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. We had an incredible first trip to Scotland and we plan to stay here on our next trip. It was a five star experience. "

"The room was immaculate, check-in was fantastic, however it went down hill from there. The service in the lounge/bar area fell short for what you would expect from a hotel of this caliber. Anytime we needed anything we had to flag down the bartenders as they never looked in our direction. I felt it was intentional. (Perhaps because we are American?) I could figure no other reason as we were polite and friendly. (Some readers may assume that we were acting inappropriately.) We were also misinformed by the front desk when we called down to confirm whether clocks were to be pushed forward overnight for DLS. They said it was to take place the following day! (Good thing we didn’t take their word for it!) The topper was upon calling for a bellhop the morning of check out we waited for 25 mins and ended up bringing our bags down ourselves, so as not to miss our flight. The hotel did show goodwill by taking off the previous nights food and beverage bill, but I would have much preferred the service I paid for by staying in a hotel of that level."
