"Motel 6 has made a lot of effort to step up their game in other towns and cities. This one needs some work. Just felt a little shady."

"I paid a non-refundable charge for a room in this motel. I had had a wonderful experience at a Studio 6 in Buttonwillow, so it was a shock to see the area around this Studio 6 -- the area was rundown, dirty, and unsafe. The lobby door was licked to keep the street people out. The exterior of the motel was dirty and in bad repair. There were people sitting on the stairs outside. Although the room looked okay, a puddle of something on the floor inside the door was the last straw. I did not feel safe and immediately returned to the office and checked out. I didn't expect or get a refund, but I did report the situation to Expedia. The room was overpriced, but I took the hit and left. The desk clerk was nice enough. I felt sorry that he had to work at that dump."

"Our stay at the Pinc Lady was perfect! The Victorian house is amazing! Our bedroom was huge and had an incredibly comfortable bed. Our hostess, J., was very helpful with where to go for dinner and the history of the house and area. We walked to the old town part of Eureka and there was an arts festival happening. What a cool town. We will be back,"
