Perfect Summer / Fall Getaway with Amazing Fireplace for Gathering / Relaxation.

Beauitful 35 Acre property with an abundance of wildlife sitting atop a mountain. Property includes brand new (built in 2015) log cabin with 4 bedrooms, amazing "great room", large open area kitchen, 2 sided fireplace (faces inside and outside) and large back deck facing woods and large backyard. House is perfect for evening grilling and sitting around the campfire (fire pit in backyard). House has all the modern amenities from wireless internet, stainless steel appliances (large refrigerator with ice maker), microwave, walk in pantry, island in kitchen, gas grill on back porch, flat screen TV's in each room with DirecTV. Full washer / dryer in basement and modern HVAC system with central air conditioning and heating.

No need to bring utensils or plates & glasses as house is fully stocked with everything you need (except the food). Master bathroom has shower and jacuzzi bath tub, guest bathroom has shower / tub and has towels, washcloths, soap, etc.

There is a beautiful covered car port in the front of the house such that you can avoid the elements (rain, snow) when you pull up the the U shaped driveway.

Property has wide range of wildlife ranging from birds, foxes, squirrels, rabbits, turkey and many deer. Backyard is rouhgly 2 acres and full of grass. Visits here are the definition of tranquility, as you will hear no cars at night, watch the deer in the morning or evening and have comfortable nights sleep.

Cabin is roughly 15 minutes from the closest town where you can stock up on food for your visit. Cabin is 90 minutes from NYC (without traffic) and easy to get to for a weekend getaway.

Great Getaway!

Lovely house by the woods!

Stayed here with a group of 8 friends. Had the best time! Steven and Michelle answered all questions we had quickly. Grocery stores are all less than 20 minutes away and the dual sides fireplace was awesome! Looking forward to our next reunion here!

Beautiful home in the mountains

Large beautiful place, it's definitely bigger than the pictures show. The great room contains the living room, dining room, and kitchen, and there's still plenty of room. The kids loved having room to run around, especially in the big backyard. I wish it was a little warmer so we could have fully enjoyed the outdoors more. We would love to stay again, if we're in the area!

Exceptional Property for a Most Relaxing Getaway

We rented this cabin for a long weekend at a dog show about 25 miles away. I was looking for a place to unwind with friends and dogs where we could relax, be peaceful and let the dogs stretch their legs. This cabin and property exceeded our expectations! The cabin is just beautiful, well laid out for several families, and has a lovely covered deck. The surrounding land is also beautiful, incredibly quiet and peaceful and the neighbors we met who were walking along the road were great to talk to. We had all we needed to cook a gourmet meal one evening- the kitchen is very well equipped. I would have loved to rebook for a long weekend this summer to be able to do some hiking, but their weekends are booked up and I can see why- definitely will make the time that go back- truly one of the best VRBO properties I have ever had the pleasure of staying at!

In a scale of 10, a disappointing 3

I had booked with VRBO twice before and my friends who were with me in thirst 2 rentals were very happy with it. This time new friends and I wanted to stay in a rustic log house. I want to start with the positive comments first. The great hall with the high pine ceiling was very nice and the living room was spacious. The carport was a great addition. Separate eat-in area and island in the kitchen provided adequate space for food prep and dining. We liked that the air can be regulated individually on both sides, giving options according to room location. The choices on what to watch on TV were multiple. Unfortunately these are the only nice things we found about the house. This place needs a major fixer upper. There is a missing panel in the kitchen and the sink is exposed. Soggy towels were still in the dryer, needing a “very dry” cycle run and I ended up folding the towels myself. The handle on one of the porch doors was missing and the one on the main door was loose in and out. There were no blinds on the main door and on the windows and we felt exposed. The hammock is very dirty. The fireplace needs to be cleaned of ashes and the exterior fireplace door is easy access for anything since it does not lock. The trash needs to be walked out across the yard to the garage shed and when the door opened, we were met with flies since piled garbage from previous occupants weren’t picked up. The TV froze while we were watching a movie. In a scale of 10, I give this rental a disappointing 3. Most of the 7 guests were first time VRBO renters, so just imagine what their first impressions were.

Beautiful Property!

The house was great! Plenty big enough for our group of 8. I thought there were 3 rooms with 2 beds but there were only 2, and 2 with one bed. It ended up working fine, the kiddos slept in the full size bed, but just a heads up for anyone traveling with all adults! We hung out on the porch a lot, had morning coffee out there, ate dinners out there, played games, etc. The basement was great for the kids, had some toys and lots of room to run around. We didn't cook a ton but the the few things we made, the kitchen seemed to be pretty stocked. Spent one day at the Woodstock museum (about a 40 min drive) but the rest of the time we enjoyed being at the house. The road is quiet and we were able to take walks up it. All in all a great stay. Close enough to town to grab anything we need, but far enough to be able to see the stars and enjoy nature!

This place is even nicer than it looks on line!

We were very impressed with the size, cleanliness and decor of this home. We especially loved the covered car area and the covered deck that included a hammock and double sided fireplace. I also really liked the art on the walls. We highly recommend this place.

Fall Mountain Getaway

The condition of the property was not as kept up as it could have been- the grill is filled with grease and we had to clean the grates before use We left the wire brush. The fire place ash was pretty full- the home overall is very nice and we had a very nice time. A repair man showed up unexpectedly to fix the dryer but said he did not have the part.
