Amazing Stay

We had a great time during 4th of July weekend. We were a large family but fit comfortably with 8 rooms , each room was nicely organized and the outside area of the house is unreal. If you like nature then this is the place for you. We loved it!

Great stay for a big group

We just got back from a great stay with a few other families and their kids and had the best time. This is our second time staying here and it’s exactly as we remembered which was great, but it’s even better now with the new sauna - which was AMAZING! I would recommend this home to anyone and cannot wait to book it again next year!

Annual Holiday Family Ski Trip

This large home comfortably accommodated 16 guests ages 21 to 87. Ample bedrooms and bathrooms for a group this large are hard to find but this home has plenty. The large and well stocked kitchen was a great gathering space after a day on the slopes with plenty of space for chefs and sous-chefs to work while the rest watched while enjoying apres-ski activities. The dining room was great for evening board games and led easily to the living room for evening movies. We look forward to returning.

Family Weekend

My cousins and siblings had a great time from start to finish. The house was very comfortable with multiple places to relax. We had a large group and never felt short for space. All bedrooms were well furnished. The amazing kitchen was perfect for making our large family dinners. The area around the house offered beautiful scenery and nice options for when we wanted to go out. Highly recommend this property and host (Mella)

Wedding Stay

Our family stayed for five days surrounding my daughter’s wedding in the area. The kitchen is absolutely fabulous and each room has its own personality and convenient bathroom. The surroundings were gorgeous and relaxing on the porch helped us to wind down from all the wedding stress. The owner quickly responded to all our questions and we felt very spoiled! Wonderful family gathering place!

Coming from the west coast, we needed to find a place for a small family gathering. We found this place and it was perfect. The gathering places were wonderful and the surrounding area was so peaceful. We had campfires, made some tasty family dinners in the full kitchen, and enjoyed our time on the deck. Wonderful stay and we made some beautiful memories. Mella truly is a super host!

Lovely, relaxed getaway

A great property for a big group - we had a mix of adults, kids and dogs and it worked well. Loved that each room had its own bathroom and found everything we needed in the kitchen. The house is a bit shabby chic (including the bathrooms) which might not be to everyone’s taste but worked fine for us. Very responsive host!

Tranquil Getaway

Huge, fascinating old house with a great kitchen and spectacular grounds. Bedrooms are large and spread apart which makes it great for sharing across friend and extended family groups. Excellent TV and WiFi, but honestly the outdoors were the highlight. The brook that runs through the property lends a truly magical feeling of peace and tranquility. We spent most of our time on the huge deck and had an epic fire pit experience.

Charming and cozy rustic home

This expansive old home is perfect for a large group spending a few days together. Every family had its own room or two, as well as private baths. The group gathering places - kitchen, dining and living rooms are spacious, cozy and welcoming. Mella was a great host- super responsive, welcoming and communicative. The property itself was also very welcoming and fun for the kids and adults to play and explore. So close to Bellayre is another huge plus. We hope to return!

Beautiful huge & private property

9 of us enjoyed a long weekend at this property. It's a beautiful, historical home with the needed modern updates. We loved the fire pit, hot tub, and grill. The kitchen is enormous, and we love to cook and spent plenty of time doing it! We also visited a local farmer's market, played golf, and went on hikes. The restaurants in the area were excellent, as well, and the people were very friendly....even while accommodating our larger group. We highly recommend!!

Magical stay!

We had a wonderful trip to Pine Hill, and Mella's house was the icing on the cake! The house is very large and offers plenty of space for all of us. There are six bedrooms on the second floor and two on the third. The first-floor living room, dining room, lounge, and kitchen are large and wonderful for a group gathering. However, the real highlight of the house is the outside area - the sauna and hot tub are wonderful, and the deck is very large and provides plenty of space for us to sunbathe on a warm day or to eat dinner outside. Mella communicated effectively, and the house guide provided all the information you need to live in the house responsibly. I would highly recommend staying at this property for a large group!

Awesome Christmas in the Catskills

Our large extended family had a perfect Christmas at the house! It’s super charming and incredibly spacious and it was great to have so much room for everyone to sleep, eat, and hang out. We loved the well stocked kitchen and made lots of big meals. We brought an extra couple of big pots, but I don’t really think that was necessary. We also loved the fireplaces and cozy spots to relax. Outside, we hiked around the property and loved having the fire pit and hot tub. Mella was also super responsive and great. We’d definitely come back!

Perfect House and Location!

Our group (4 adults, 4 kids under age 6) had the best, most relaxing weekend at this house! First, the house is HUGE - so the kids had plenty of places to explore inside during a freezing cold weekend. We skied at Belleayre Mountain -- and it's so close (5 min max) that we were able to hop back to the house to warm up a bit before going out again. We wanted to avoid the lodge during COVID so this worked great. Mella was so easy to communicate with -- she texted me right when we walked in to make sure we were all set. We didn't venture out into the property much because of the weather, but it looks like a really fun place to explore. Overall we would definitely go back!

Great Time!

My sisters and our families stayed here for a few days and we had a wonderful stay! The house is large enough for everyone to have their own space, but there are more than a few gathering areas for everyone to be together - comfy and spacious. Space heaters in almost every room to help with areas of the house that might be colder than others. More than enough sheets, blankets, and pillows. Large laundry room with multiple machines. Easy and quick communication with owner! We cooked most meals in the house, but I would recommend "Woodstock Brewery" for a family friendly, good meal. Overall, we had a great stay!! Thank you!!

Excellent and exactly what we needed!

My husband’s and my friends get together every year for a relaxing retreat. This year was the first time the trip included a non-adult, as we have a 7 month old! We are a large group and we often have to spend a good amount of time look for a space to fit our needs: mainly family dinners, game time, lots of space, dog (and now kid) friendly and of course fire pit and hot tub relaxing! This wonderful property checked every box. Very spacious, most bedrooms with their own bathroom, a lovely large kitchen and big dining room. Everything was very clean and extremely cozy but not so pristine or upscale that we felt nervous with the dogs and infant. The hot tub was perfect and the two Woodburning stoves/fireplaces were so cozy as well! Communicating with the owner was also incredibly easy. I would highly recommend this property!

Sprawling Rustic Property

I stayed at this enormous property with a group of 14. We really enjoyed the immaculate hot tub and outdoor fire pit, which we made use of daily. It was wonderful to have so much space for our big group. Even more people could have fit comfortably if queen beds had been shared. Beds were comfortable and pillows were okay. In terms of of how updated the property is, this rental does photograph a little too well. Many bathrooms are en-suite, but they are crammed into closets and are not very comfortable to use. Many have the sink in the bedroom, because of the very small footprint. Given the capacity of the property and the price I think this is reasonable - just be forewarned that the bathrooms don't figure very much in the listing, probably in part because they are so tiny that there isn't even a very good way to get a photo.

Beautiful retreat with some old house issues.

I booked this house for my 50th birthday gathering and for the most part, it was amazing. Location wise, the house is right off 28 so it is fairly convenient. However, there is not a lot right in Pine Hill or even neighboring towns so we did have to drive some distance for various hikes and eating places. I knew that in advance and booked anyway because the house itself is the best one I found for a group of friends in their 40s and 50s. As an old house junkie, this place was full of delights from the original doors and staircase to the absolutely amazing kitchen. The kitchen was fully stocked for cooking or just making coffee and heating things up. Having a double oven was key for this many people. The place had ample space for folks to hang out both inside and out. And having a hot tub was a huge bonus for this early fall weekend as it did get cold in the evenings/night. We didn’t use the fire pit but that would also have been amazing. The bedrooms were all a great size and had the most comfortable beds! We all remarked that we wanted to buy whatever sheets Mella uses because they are so soft! The showers had good water pressure (unusual for such an old house) and everyone had their own bathroom. This was important both because my friends and I are old and need our space but also COVID friendly. The bathrooms are quite small though and most of the bathroom sinks are outside the bathroom but inside the bedroom (kind of an older style). Two fireplaces work and have detailed instructions. Basically, it was exactly the kind of cozy but spacious environment I needed to celebrate with my closest friends. The place did come with some downsides. First, the house had not been heated when we got there despite the forecast of about 45 degrees for our arrival day. That meant we only found out at 7pm that one swath of heaters was not turning on. Mella did solve the issue by offering space heaters but then those tripped the electricity ( again, a common old house issue). So some guests had a bit of a cold night. By Saturday, this was better as the house had heated up. On Sunday, something went amiss with the boiler and there was no hot water until my partner was able to figure out how to get it going again. I think it would be useful for someone who knows more about the house innards to be on call for issues like this. Mella was responsive and called people to fix the issue but because it was the weekend, no one was able to come until after we left.

Large property

Host was very easy to communicate with. The house is very large and comfortable. Ac units all over the house, plenty of seating and lots of different areas to hang out with large groups of family or friends. All the bedrooms had they're own bathroom attached which is wonderful. The whole group I was with were happy with the stay. If you're looking to book a place that can accommodate a large group this place should be considered.

Wonderful weekend stay

We held a reunion weekend for a close group of friends. We loved the fact that there were plenty of bedrooms (without bunk beds) and plenty of bathrooms to accommodate us.My friends enjoyed the hot tub and barrel sauna. We had a great time cooking and hanging out in the kitchen chatting til the wee hours. Mella was a fantastic host, easy to communicate with and very responsive. Everyone had a great time. I wouldn't be surprised if we tried to do another reunion gathering next year at this place!

Beautiful time in the Catskills

We had an amazing time Labor Day weekend! The weather was great. We went to Caterskills waterfalls which was amazing. A must see and the nearby beach was also very nice. The house was very clean & well kept with all the amenities. Made it a great stay!

Extended family gathering

We stayed at Mella’s property for our extended family gathering. It was wonderfully private and relaxing. We loved being able to all fit at one table for meals, but we also ate on the back deck and spent time around the campfire. The children spent a lot of time in the stream and the older ones enjoyed the hot tub. The house is much more spacious than the pictures can show. This was great for napping children to be away from the noise in the main part of the house, or for grandparents who went to bed early. We also particularly appreciated how most bedrooms have a private bathroom! There are also multiple sitting areas to relax and visit. We took a walk down the road (barely any traffic) and had a pleasant chat with a friendly neighbor. We like the homey character of this lovely old house and hope to come back for our next gathering.
