"The staff were friendly, polite and helpful. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was in need of some refurbishment and the shower was poor. However, Howfield Manor is a beautiful building and even in December the grounds were lovely. I would like to stay there again. "

"This property is an excellent base for exploring Canterbury. It's quiet and secluded, yet still close to all amenities. The grocery store is a short walk, and the local pub is a great place to unwind after your days adventure. "

Enjoyed a large bedroom suite with great views over the garden, the food was exceptional. The fresh whole John Dory for 2 was exceptional.
The produce garden is certainly worth an early morning stroll before a full Pig breakfast.
The staff made us feel very welcome and it will be on our list to return."

"Centrally located hotel with a nice bar which had live jazz music on Friday afternoons. The rooms seem fairly new in their decor and there was a nice comfortable bed. We were given the option of taking an accessible room as we booked very last minute and it was incredibly spacious and we didn't hear any noise. We didn't eat in the hotel. "

It was cool to go to breakfast and see a priest or other parishioner getting ready to start a conference or some other worthy activity, not that that was the exclusive attendance of the hotel."

"Excellent spacious property, nicely situated within easy walk to pub and village shop. It is a great base for visits to the many nearby coastal resorts .If ,like us, you fancy tapas go to El SOL in beautiful Canterbury. Recommend a cross country walk to the Tadpole Cafe. Like to mention that cottage host James came across as a really nice fella."
