The worst stay and experience ever.

I booked two rooms. One for me n my fiance room 333 and I booked a room for my son's room 331. On my second day of my stay my 2yr old son found a makeup bag with syringes, a burned spoon, a tweezers, aluminum foil. It was full of contraband. I told the from desk I wanted a full refund for both my rooms and I was waiting in the lobby for over 2hrs for them to make a decision and I called the police and also made a report with them. They said the refund the whole stay for both room 331 for 2 days and 333 for 3 days.

Thank you for your feedback. I would love to address this issue for you. I have spoken with the front desk agent several times about this situation, including on the day it occurred. I have also spoken with housekeeping, and all management in regards to this, and your refund. We did not charge the card on file, as we have agreed to refund your whole stay. We have submitted a request with Expedia, and are waiting on confirmation for the refund, as Expedia is the one that will be returning the funds to your card. Once the bag was brought to the front desk, our front desk agent contacted me, and I contacted my manager. The decision to do the refund was made right away. There was not more than a 15 minute wait time, while I explained the issue with my manager. I contacted the front desk right away, and he was able to relay the information to you. He tells me that it was quite a wait for the police to show up to the hotel, and for that I do apologize. I wish I was able to get them here faster for you. I would like to sincerely apologize, on behalf of our whole staff here at Red Lion Jacksonville, for the inconvenience that you experienced during your stay. This was completely unacceptable, and we are working on fixing this issue as soon as possible. We hope this does not deter you from giving us a second chance. If there is anything else you need, please don't hesitate to let us know.

Nice location, but low quality hotel.

The furniture in the lobby was dirty, the continental breakfast was awful (the juices tasted watered down), and there was something wrong with the hot water. We left after one night.

Thank you so much for your feedback. We do apologize for issues with the hot water. We had to replace a part on the water heater. Turning the faucet on for about 10-15 minutes would've given the water enough time to heat up. We know that this in unacceptable, and we know it was a big inconvenience for our guests. We were able to replace the part the next day, and get this taken care of. We apologize for this happening during your stay.

Sleep number bed and TV did not work. Bottom of shower looked dirty. Convenient to St. John's town center.

I clean comfortable stay with clean rooms. The in-hotel bar and restaurant was very convenient.

Weekend out

Hotel was very nice and accommodating however the sleep number mattress was nonoperational and you can hear when anyone in the hotel uses the restroom (not too well insulated). Bedding was very soft and the room was very clean.The location was quiet and not in a loud city area. I would stay here again.

Noisy Construction

The room was comfortable, until about 7:30 AM, when the construction again. It turns out the construction is in the next building, but it sounds as if it's right next to your bed. For us, the people next-door were also very loud. The hotel did offer us a 20% refund.

Week long stay

Pros: The friendliness of the staff - clearly all acted professionally and wanted guests to have needs met. The pool area. The breakfast buffet.
Location: The location was great for us - however the highway construction nearby made it difficult at times. Dave and Busters is easy walking distance.
We have stayed in this hotel before, under different management. This is a good location for us -near the city but easy access to the ocean. The staff is friendly and helpful and the restaurant staff in particular were excellent. The breakfast buffet added expense was a wonderful deal - great breakfast choices which varied each day. We will return to this hotel again for sure.
