Our stay at Eriska was wonderful and full of good memories. The staff were very professional and attentive. We spent one day walking around the entire island - it was not strenuous and took approximately 3 hours and that included lots of breaks to take pictures and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. The food at Eriska was top notch from the lovely breakfasts to the multi course dinners. We stayed in the Skye room which is on the first floor. It was a spacious room with a sofa and fireplace.

Room was nicely decorated, property felt inviting and cozy. To-go items in mini fridge for breakfast was an unexpected surprise. Great location for getting anywhere in Oban.

Excellent location. My girlfriend and I were convinced that we were at the best hotel in Oban. 2 minutes walk could have you at the wetherspoons by the waterfront among other fantastic restaurants. There were also two restaurants on site very nice and clean. The only minor nitpick were some dirty spots on the bathroom wall and a weird looking soiled paper towel or something in the nightstand drawer. It wasn’t a very big deal and I was able to overlook this since everything seemed to go off...

Wonderful hosts, very accommodating. Lovely spot with a view of the Isle of Mull across the bay. Had one of the best pasta meals in my life. Well worth the drive.

Great place right in the heart of Oban. 2 minute walk to Oban Distillery. The whisky bar downstairs was really fun and convenient. The rooms were very comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful.

I only stayed one night and wished I was staying a couple at least. Checking in was a breeze, and the guesthouse is immaculate. I loved the detail in decor and they had a great sitting room. Breakfast was great with ducks in the yard for entertainment (we were inside!). I will stay there again if I return to do hiking in the local area. The owners were very nice and friendly.

I am rooting for these guys! It’s a beautiful place and we loved staying in Oban away from the tacky ocean front area spots. We loved the views and the grounds and the library with the assortment of whiskeys. Here is a photo of some highlights! The library and the peacock and the views. Looks like a castle.

The Bunkhouse was a quiet and quaint space with a handy location. The room was finished to a terrific standard and was certainly cleaned well. It gives you great access to the Highlands and islands and the corran ferry literally couldn't be any closer.
The communal area was well equipped for cooking and had everything to make a great cuppa after a long day exploring. We didn't get to try to eatery's delights nearby but I'm sure it would be worth a try if it matches the standard of the Bunkhouse

The best area to stay in Ledaig is the village center, particularly around Main Street, for convenient access to local amenities and the ferry terminal.
This area is the heart of Ledaig, offering a concentrated experience with most shops, pubs, and restaurants within easy walking distance. Main Street runs parallel to the waterfront, providing views of the bay and the Isle of Mull. You'll find the ferry terminal here, which is ideal for those planning day trips or onward travel. Couples will appreciate the ease of exploring the village on foot and the selection of dining options.
For travelers seeking a more secluded and tranquil experience, the outskirts of the village, especially properties located in the hills overlooking the bay, are an excellent choice. These accommodations often provide stunning panoramic views and a peaceful retreat from the village's modest activity.
When is the best time to go to Ledaig?
While Ledaig is a wonderful year-round destination, the best time to visit for most travelers is during the late spring and summer months, particularly from May to September.
During this period, you'll experience the most favorable weather conditions, with longer daylight hours and milder temperatures, making it ideal for exploring the island's natural beauty. Many local attractions and outdoor activities are fully operational, and the ferry schedules offer more frequent crossings, providing convenience for your travel plans. This time of year is especially appealing for couples looking to enjoy scenic walks and outdoor adventures without the chill of winter.
For those interested in wildlife, late spring and early summer offer excellent opportunities for spotting local birdlife and marine animals, especially along the coastline and on boat tours. The improved visibility and calmer seas during these months enhance the experience for nature enthusiasts.
