“Staff are very kind”

“Perfect location, excellent staff, great food, spacious accommodation. Our first visit to Madeira but so many fellow guests were on repeat visits to this hotel, some on their 8th or 9th! It’s a relaxing place to stay and has really good entertainment every evening, so all in all a revisit seems very likely, thank you. Oh, and Madeira is stunning.”

“Was a bit hard to communicate to the front desk when informing them about my late arrival. They were very helpful on arrival but getting around the property was a bit difficult and the lack of instruction about appropriate entrances at certain times throughout the day made things a bit hard. Breakfast at the cafe on site was lovely. Make sure you inform the hotel prior to arrival if you have a car you need to park. You need a set of keys to get through all the doors and they only give you one……

“We were forced to book this hotel last minute due to a cancelled flight and no other options. It was incredibly expensive and not worth the cost. The hotel is very old and outdated and the wifi does not work. We were able to check in late and the room was clean but I would not stay there again for that price. Definitely taking advantage of low inventory on the island”

“Cleanliness has room of improvement. There are ants in room and blood stain and hair were found in linen and towel. After telling the hotel staff, cleaning lady has made the room more tidy”

“A great apartment on the edge of the old town. Fab views of the sea and of the local area - great for people watching. Good size living / kitchen area with well appointed cooking area. Full sized fridge freezer which is always a bonus. Bedroom at the back with a small rooflight window - no aircon - but a decent fan in both areas. Walk in bathroom/ shower was without a window and limited mechanical extraction - so had a v damp smell - a design fault - but had to keep that door closed. But the……

“We had a fantastic stay at Sentido Galosol and would happily return. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and had a beautiful sea view, which made every morning and evening special. The food onsite was amazing, with fresh fish served every day and plenty of delicious options throughout our stay. Everything was fresh, well-prepared, and something we looked forward to each day. What truly made this hotel stand out, though, was the staff. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed and……

“Excellent property right in the centre of Funchal. We stayed in the top floor apartment V, which had a lovely balcony that has a side view towards the see and sunshine from midday. The kitchen is full of all utensils and cleaning products. Tupperware came in handy to take on hikes with you. There are a couple of points to note. There is no lift so you need to make sure you can climb plenty of steps. The mattress is quite firm and the building carries the noise so you can hear a lot of things……
