“Das Personal war sehr freundlich und entgegenkommend. Auch der Check-in außerhalb der regulären Öffnungszeiten verlief nach der Ankunft problemlos und hervorragend organisiert.
Die Zimmer sowie die gesamte Hotelanlage waren sauber und gepflegt, wirkten jedoch teilweise etwas in die Jahre gekommen.
Das Frühstücksbuffet bot eine gute Auswahl und hatte für jeden Geschmack etwas zu bieten. Allerdings war die Auswahl während unseres fünftägigen Aufenthalts kaum abwechslungsreich.”

“A good place to stay in Funchal away from the centre. The pool is very nice & the buffet breakfast has a lot of options. The beds are hard but this seems typical of Madeira. Our room was a bit untidy but again we had experienced this elsewhere too. The staff don’t really share a lot of information for example you can’t open your balcony door as it shuts off the air-conditioning or you need your key to actually exit the garage on checkout or you’re trapped in the garage. “The location of the Pestana Lido Vila is unique to this stretch of the coastline as the hotel is right on the waterfront. Most of the other hotels nearby are perched above the cliff with access to the water via elevators. There is a grocery store right across the street and many restaurants to choose from as well as a walkway along the waterfront that goes several miles up the coastline. We were also able to easily walk into downtown Funchal, about a 30 minute walk. The hotel is well……

“Absolutes Standard-Hotel für Massentourismus. Personal ist sehr bemüht aber man merkt dem Hotel die Jahre an, Renovierung wäre wirklich angebracht. Die Geräuschkulisse ist schon sehr stark. Mehr als zwei Nächte kann ich hier keinem Empfehlen zu verbringen. Es sind einfach zu viele Gäste auf einem Fleckchen zusammen.
Frühstück ist auch absoluter Durchschnitt.”

“Rooms and hotel were clean and in a good location with plenty of places to eat nearby. The bathroom was a bit dated and only hand wash and body/hair shampoo available, no conditioner or hand cream that would normally come with a 4 star hotel.
Free parking which most of the time we were able to get a spare (first come first serve) however we did have to use a local multistorey when full.
Overall a nice hotel with 2 decent sizes pools with plenty of deck chairs again.
Breakfast was ok with plenty……
