Overall our stay at the Krystal Grand was wonderful! PROS: --Altitude room and view were beautiful, bed was comfortable, water and beverages were restocked regularly. Cleaning staff was perfect! --Our butler Joel was AMAZING! So helpful and responsive. Thank you Joel! --Kamp Krystal kids club! Tania was WONDERFUL! My daughter loved her and begged to go to kids club. Thank you Tania! --Miguel the photographer on site! We had an impromptu shoot and it was amazing! Thank you Miguel! --The pools were wonderful, a little cold for me, but nice and clean --Drinks were wonderful and we never had to wait long for one --Breakfast at The Grill (altitude Only). Food and service were phenominal (our morning waiter was the best!) --Pool chairs. Lots of complaints about this but we found it just fine if you got out there by 8 am or so and grabbed some chairs. No biggie and nothing you don't see at other resorts. CONS: --Pullout couch in the room was awful. Even my six year old couldn't sleep with the metal bar in her back --Rooftop bar (Altitude Only) was just a bar with no sun protection and a two foot deep "pool" --Food just wasn't great. I wouldn't recommend the buffett for any meals, it was rough. Italian was very mediocre. I would have loved to try the Japanese and Mexican places but they did not offer a kids menu and wouldn't bring a kids meal from another part of the resort. For a family place, that is just bizarre. We were forced to eat all meals at The Grill.

The Altitude tower had an amazing view of the ocean! The room was spacious and comfortable and nicely appointed. It would have been nice to have a proper table and chairs to eat at when ordering room service. We loved the à la carte breakfast service at the Grill and the staff there was excellent. The breakfast buffet was not as clean, food was not as good and not the same offerings, and service was not as attentive. For dinner Risotto had delicious Italian food, Hacienda Del Mortero had delicious tacos and the Grill was great too. Portions are small but we liked this as we could try a variety of dishes without wasting food. Ayami was our least favourite restaurant as the Asian food is not authentic but the fish was very fresh. The dinner buffet was mediocre with limited offerings. The Surfos bar was great. We enjoyed the hotdog and hamburger stand by the pool! Sky lounge was nice and usually quiet. The main pool was really nice with a great view of the beach. We were mostly in the adult pool where the swim up bar was located but it needed some work as some tiles were missing and it often seemed scummy with sunscreen. There was a lack of loungers available poolside and some were a bit broken. Would be nice to have more umbrellas and loungers on the beach. You cannot swim at the beach - surf is very rough. Black flag everyday. Beach is gorgeous for walking. Overall a nice resort. A little tired in some areas in need of renovation and a bit understaffed in the restaurants.

The villa and property grounds were beautiful, the food was not good and at and the service wasn’t must better... slow service and even slower butler, which we paid for.. we saw him one time
