"The Rainbow Dreams Cottage NEVER disappoints! I’ve had the privilege to stay here on other occasions with a girlfriend. We always treasured our time here. This time I brought my husband. I was worried that he would prefer to have wifi and cell coverage. He was a bit sceptical before we checked in. However, as we sat in the main room on our first night, the room lit with candles, the windows open to let in the warm breeze, listening to the coqui frogs and crickets, the waves crashing against the rooks across the road… he turned to me and said, “this is magical!” He is a fan! The cottage had everything we needed. It was comfortable and quiet (except for the waves). It is very well-maintained, thoughtfully appointed, and the hosts are very communicative and helpful. Read the host’s description - it is detailed and informative. While it is located off the beaten path, the privacy and serenity are well worth the short drive to restaurants and groceries. The village of Pahoa has some great dining options and there are delicious smoothies down the road in Kalapana. There is lots to explore or just hang out on the lanai at the cottage and read. If you prefer to make your own meals, the kitchen has been updated and has what you will need.If you are looking for a peaceful and beautiful part of Hawaii to get-away and recharge, the Rainbow Dreams Cottage is for you! "Lovely space. Across from bar. Lovely views. Very nice room. Great shower. Comfortable beds. Bidet! Very helpful staff. Small but 24hr useful gym. 24hr coffee and tea. Paddle board and bike rental easy and fun. Easy free parking. Will definitely start here again"

"This isn't an elegant hotel, but we thought it was very good for the money we paid. It's located between 2 parks (1 right next door, the other about 1/2 mile in the other direction. "

"House upgrades were well done. Obviously, the view is priceless. The neighborhood is easy to walk with friendly people. Felt secure. Everything worked as you'd expect. Even without AC, opening the windows in the late afternoon/ evening was perfect."

"Absolutely gorgeous view. Completely different experience seeing the lava fields. We enjoyed watching the sunrises at the edge of the ocean. It’s only a about a four or five minute walk from the house and it’s easy to pack a chair to sit in. The unit itself is beautiful. We loved having the air conditioning and really didn’t need it too much but it was very nice to have. The condo itself is clean and up-to-date. The bed is very comfortable. Best one I’ve ever slept in at any VRBO. Pahoa is just a quick drive away and Hilo is only about 45 or 50 minutes if you plan to avoid traffic. The owner was easy to get a hold of and we had a great time. We hope to be back!"

"Fully equiped kitchen, clean & good sized. Hamoock on the balcony was great to enjoy the sounds of the frogs & waves crashing in the distance. Great spot for my needs. Easy acess to the National Park without dealing with city traffic."
